I missed the first 15 minutes tonight but was so glad to see it again,. It was shown in a big ol theatre here in Decatur IL eleven or twelve years ago.. The big ol theatre vibe was perfect, reminded me about tagging along with my sister in '64, who was 16 when I was 8, but I would not have missed it for the world, such as it was for an experience. She and so many girls screamed their throats out because, probably they could not go to see The Beatles in places where they could see them for real, etc. So it ended up being scream and carry on in a movie theatre. But hell yes it was fun. Shown in one of two movie theatres in Beloit , Wisconsin . The Beatles were so goddamn hot in'64 that we had to buy tickets weeks in advance for the "premier " in Beloit. Roger Ebert was so damn right about his praise for A Hard Day's Night. and, thank you, Ringo , for the phrase 'a hard day's night' so that John and Paul could write such a great song. A Hard Day's Night .... just one of those benchmarks that older people have and that the young whippersnappers will neve experience because their musical gods are so damn disposable.
