Would you jump? Or would you chicken out?

[quote]On a 10-meter high diving tower, fear of taking the jump is pitted against the personal loss that would arise if you didn't dare. What do we look like when we hesitate and when we make a decision? What does it look like when we overcome our fear?

I might consider it if there were 3-5 successively higher towers from where I could jump over the course of several attempt.

Panic while jumping from the 10 meter platform without any real preparation could easily cause you to twist.

Remember, you hit the water at 35mph when jumping from 10 meters and water, contrary to popular belief, is still a relatively hard surface if you hit with too much of your surface area, rather than slicing through it.

It wouldn't be a pretty or elegant jump, but I would jump (you know, eyes closed, arm close to the body, feet first).

Damn! That was anxiety-provoking just watching the people contemplate the jump!

As long as there’s water in the pool for christsakes!

Some funny segments in this video when Tom took Lance to work one day.

"I'm having another issue .. my balls."

Somewhere within, Tom mentions it took James Cordon three hours to work up to the 10M. I think I could do it, but it might take about that long as well.

R3 I love the dramatic, last-second bail-out by the guy at 2:51 (the one with a hairstyle straight from a can of Dutch Boy paint).

No. I have sciatica due to compressed discs. Not willing to make it worse.

I have jumped off the 10M tower several times at the Rec Center pool when I was a kid. I didn't like it, and in my 50s, I likely wouldn't do it now.

That was like watching a Ingmar Bergman film.

Absolutely not. I'm afraid of heights, but that was a fascinating watch. Thanks for sharing!
