Saw a link to Wikipedia in another thread. Was she fired? Wikipedia just says she left. Would have been a big break for her. She doesn't seem to have many prior credits.

[Quote] "I shot for a week with Joanna," recalled UK writer-director Bryan Forbes, "but [producer] Edger Scherick didn't like her and fired her. Joanna is a very fine actress who has gone on to do some very good things, but I didn't have the last word. It was Scherick's decision to re-cast."

Was Joanna one of Carson's mistresses?

The thing is, given the choice, I don't want to squeeze the god damned Charmin.

Joanna Cassidy should never be fired from anything.

The link at r2 also claims:
[Quote] Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman, TV, 1976-1979. Joanna beat 200 applicants for the role, yet director Jack Arnold refused to consider the series without Miss World USA 1972.
Is this saying that Carter was on the verge of being dumped after doing a couple of TV movies in the role?

Joanna Cassidy is one of the most beautiful women I've seen on TV in many years. I really liked her in 'Buffalo Bill' where she showed how good she was at comedy.

R7 She does deserve props for reshooting her Zhora scenes for Ridley Scott in his director’s cut of Blade Runner—in the same costume—25 years later.

Was her playing an android in Blade Runner a fuck you?

R9 I never thought of that before but that’s true. Blade Runner definitely reached a much wider audience than Stepford.

I worked on a movie where she was cast. She was awful. I was 18 years old and delivered script revisions to all the cast's hotel rooms. The script was finalized at 2 am because the writer was a coke fiend. Okay. My job was to slip the new pages under the door of every actor. She had a two-room suite in this hotel and I put the new pages under the wrong fucking door. She threw a god damned fit. Fuck her. She's not pretty enough or tall enough for that gesture. Cunt.

I've loved her in the few things I've seen her in. Among them, Rose in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" and Margaret Chenoweth in "Six Feet Under". She steals every scene with a confident yet giddy energy that can border on psychotic.
Perhaps R12 is talking about working on "Bank Shot"? She was going through a divorce at the time, so don't take it personally.

She and Katharine Ross are the same physical type, with the auburn hair. It's possible that with Tina Louise, there were just too many gingers or gingers-adjacent. Paula Prentiss was a better contrast.

I'm 5'9", bitches. Tall enough to raise the roof.

Paula Prentiss is what makes Stepford still watchable. I can imagine how dull it would've been without her.
Tina Louise also helps jazz it up in a small role. But Katherine Ross is out of her element.

Nah. An actor prepares. The writer and you fucked that up for her.

240 Robert pretty much sealed my gay fate as a 10 year old.

Don Johnson was cute the the mad-for-TV sequel.
