Why was Edie Falco cast in the new "Avatar"?

It was jarring and more bizarre than anything else going on in that film. All she did was drink coffee.

They auditioned hundreds of actresses for the role - including Streisand and Maureen McCormack - but no one sipped coffee the way Falco did. She was hired on the spot !

Reminds me of when Jimmy Smits was in those Star Wars movies. HUH?

Edie Falco prefers theatre and off-best television work. Falco also has kids and a mortgage.
