Why the scanting of HPD on here?

BPD gets all the attention (and opprobrium) here on DL. However HPD rarely gets mentioned.

I have a grudging respect for BPD because they are so toxic--kind of what you would feel for a scorpion--but HPDs are super annoying and over the top. And they are LIARS. Why do they get a pass on here?

LOL - because only someone with BPD or HPD would insist that HPD and BPD aren't essentially the same thing.

You're splitting hairs. It's like saying that when you have liver cancer, you don't actually die of cancer. You die of liver failure.

Sweetie, neither HPD or BPD are fixable. Either way, you're simply batshit crazy and a nightmare for everyone around you. Accept that no one cares about the distinction. You're just lumped in with all the crazy.

OP, the vast majority of DL users aren't qualified mental health professionals. We're not even bothering to consult the DSM when we make our amateur diagnoses. We just tend to go with the psychiatric label du jour, whether it's bipolar, borderline, narcissist, sociopath, autistic, fetal alcohol syndrome, or whatever satisfies you. But we're not here to identify people's disorders as accurately as possible in order to utilize the therapeutic tools that will most effectively help them live their best lives. We're just being bastards.

Histrionics gets less attention because they are less destructive to those around them. Who cares if Trisha wants to parade around in a bright red lace dress and rainbow dyed hair all day long? No skin off my back. BPDs are different because they actually ruin lives and reputations. Histrionics generally want attention as well but don't have the bloodlust that BPDs do.
