Why Broadway Won't Cast Matt Cavenaugh Anymore

Starred on Broadway in Urban Cowboy, Grey Gardens, A Catered Affair, West Side Story

Despite those major credits, Broadway producers say he can't act his way out of a paper bag and is a horrible singer.

Do you agree? As his career on Broadway is DEAD now and he is turning his attention to working in business.

A shame. He's gorgeous and can really sing.

[quote] He's gorgeous and can really sing.

If you read any of the message board, the unanimous opinion is that he can't sing

I saw him in West Side Story and he can. But I mean if a MESSAGE BOARD says so, then who am i?

What's he doing now? What business?

He was nice looking years ago. He put out, I bet, but not enough.

R4 he is selling used cars

And it is not message boards who say it can't sing. Broadway casting directors, producers and directors all are UNANIMOUS in saying he can't sing.

Which is why he is dead to the Broadway community

He needs to involve himself in a controversy or leak frontal nudes. Anything to get publicity. After all, Dancing With the Stars is interested in those types.

I liked him on OLTL where he played a gay character.

He is an awful singer. West Side Story was terrible partly due to his poor singing/acting. Show was bad but I remember him in particular for incompetence.

He can sing. He may not be the best actor but judging by this clip he can sing.

R11 voice experts have pointed out his nasal quality, and if you notice in the comments of that video, more posters are criticizing his singing, than actually praising it,

Last I read, he and his wife were doing It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman somewhere in Texas.
