George Reeves was a beautiful man with a good body when he was young, as can be seen in GONE WITH THE WIND. But by the time of SUPERMAN, he looked so soft and middle-aged that I've always been amazed he got the role. It's almost as if they cast him based on what he had looked like 15 years earlier.
I think the beauty contest between the Supermen comes down to a face-off between Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill, but Cavill can't act at all, so his beauty is somewhat wasted in the part.

R23, I’m not referring to their respective characters but rather their being in similar situations as actors. Both are in television super hero shows, rather than film versions, although both have attempted to break through in movies with limited success.

R24 I think Brenton's had more chances with movies e.g The Giver, PoTC and Gods Of Egypt. But Hoechlin's mostly had bit parts in big movies like Everybody Wants Some and Palm Springs.
