She’s been on Sirius for over a decade. Her husband died a while back and SURPRISE! The kids her husband had with his first wife who he dumped fir Dr. Laura weren’t mentioned in the obit. She put up her estate in Santa Barbara up for sale recently.
Whatever bigotry she has towards gays, her hatred of other women is much more palatable.

She is an odd one. About five years ago a woman called because her daughter was in a lesbian marriage and she did not want the two of them staying with her at the holidays. She wanted to try to get her daughter to give up being a lesbian because she believed it imperiled her soul.
Dr. Laura asked if she wanted to be part of her daughter's life.
The woman said yes.
Then Dr. Laura said, if you want to be in her life, you will welcome her wife and never say any of this to your daughter.
Laura has no core beliefs or values. She is a pragmatist and will say what puts her in the news.

R9 he’s a nurse practitioner. After the scandal about the photos on his MySpace page and the stories he wrote about killing Iraqi civilians, she never spoke about him being in the military again and seemed to have been able to get the army to sweep it under the rug

Marriage and family life
Schlessinger met and married Michael F. Rudolph, a dentist, in 1972 while she was attending Columbia University. Schlessinger was estranged from her sister for years, and many thought she was an only child.[2] She had not spoken to her mother for 18[75] to 20 years before her mother's death in 2002 from heart disease.[15] Her mother's remains were found in her Beverly Hills condo about two months after she died,[76][77] and lay unclaimed for some time in the Los Angeles morgue before Schlessinger had them picked up for burial.[78] Concerning the day that she heard about her mother's death, she said: "Apparently she had no friends and none of her neighbors were close, so nobody even noticed!
