This is how the Drag Race fan base has been for like, 7 years now. This isn’t new at all.
Nothing will touch the glories of Seasons 2, 3, and 4. Season 6 was the last great one (5 was dreadful) before it went full SJW and surrendered dragdom to the Lindas.

God, women really ruined drag, and Drag Race killed the scraps of what was left after AIDS destroyed ballroom culture. Anyways, I love Trixie, don't shed any tears for her because there is no way in hell she cares about this or is even paying it half a mind. She got outrage towards her before for making a joke about Latrice picking cotton too, and she stood by her joke and didn't give the haters one kernel of attention. She's a rare breed and one of the best drag queens out there today.

And now we have a new generation of drag queens who cater to this new type of drag fanbase. Lots of them identifying as all sorts of things (usually 'non-binary'), a lot of them using they/them pronouns as well.
Aja is probably the worst of them all for it. Valentina "came out" as "her own gender" last year, although one wonders if she was just lampooning the whole idea just to be provocative (but I doubt it). And of course, Peppermint. All from Season 9 of Drag Race.
Seasons 9 and 10 were the absolute worst in beating us all over the head with the Hammer of Social Justice. When past winners like Bianca and Bob are cracking jokes about how the queens in those seasons spent half their time in the workroom apologizing for everything, you know it's an issue.

Trixie doesn't give two fucks about twitter outrage, and that's why I respect her. There was a similar outrage when she told a joke about Latrice picking out her cotton dress. In the video the audience booed and she responded with "Oh, what's wrong Wisconsin, did you forget to bring your black friend with you tonight" which was met with laughter.
She's a badass and knows exactly how to handle the dumb SJW shit from straight people that's polluting the drag scene: just ignore it.
