Three Things I've Always Wondered About NIFTY Archives

1. Who writes them? There are always hundreds of new stories on there, "series" that have been updated weekly for five or more years, and they run the gamut of fetishes, including many that walk the line of pedophilia. Are there really that many gay men interested in writing fictional porn stories at a time when you can get all the video porn you want for free on just about any kink or fetish?

2. (sort of a subset of #1) A decent percentage of the stories are somewhat well written--are these actual writers who have a side hobby writing porn for free. It's not Hemingway, but they are readable and the authors understand more than just the basics of both grammar and storytelling

3. A big themes seem to be gay men seducing a friend they thought was straight, or vice versa. These are often set at college (where they become love stories) or in the adult world (where they become one night stands). Why is this such a big fantasy for gay men, or at least for NIFTY writers?

Some of those writers are straight women. Like slash.

I much prefer DL's own Shit Brickhouse tales.

You think R1?

I've wondered about that too, but slash generally is about actual actors/characters they squee about (though looking at NIFTY now, there does seem to be a section devoted to "celebrities" that fits the slash stereotype, so maybe.

"Walk the line"? You better take a second read through. There's no line. That's one of Nifty's main features. And written pedo fiction is not illegal by the way.

I have written a few, and I still like reading them. I actually like reading some ESTs here provided they fit my fantasies.

To give you some context, OP, I enjoy porn with a plot. Most porn does not have enough plot for my tastes. I'm weird.

That's fascinating R7

Is that your only outlet for writing or do you write non-porn fiction and/or is writing a part of your job?

If not, what spurred you to be a creator of those sorts of stories versus a consumer?

There are two series on there now "Little White Pills" and "Joe College" that seem to have been written by people with decent storytelling skills, so I always wonder what drives the authors. (Though Joe College is allegedly autobiographical, so perhaps that's the reason.)

There's also the celebrity section. Someone there wrote almost 15 chapters of a story about David Beckham having gay sex with various people.

Did you mean to say "gay men interested in READING fictional porn stories"? Because otherwise why would the abundance of free video porn have any effect on writing porn?

Assuming you meant reading, I will reply: because it can be way more erotic to read and image the scenario in your mind than watching it with live actors.

R8 you’re thoroughly usual df, there’s nothing weird or unusual or particular about you. I think this comment sums up your personality, you suggest something totally standard and ordinary, and kind of attempt to parlay that into evidence of you being more than the sum of your parts. I bet you say “oh yea but I’m a total nerd like that” at least once a week. Cringe.

I cam across the site during the beginning of the pandemic....some are good. I actually like literotica.com more as they are more romance based stories. I would recomment - Still you want me, Bittersweet Irish Cream, Indentured

I have noticed many of the writers are from England and try very hard to write stories set in the USA. They will always slip in British phrases like, "my teammate and I wanked in the changing room after our lacrosse match." Americans rarely say wanked and almost never say changing room.

There's some other site don't remember the name, where there are some stories that let you choose a from several different directions in which the main story can lead into and allows you to contribute to the story by adding your own chapter of it is selected.

Try the stories there by Gloryhole Hunter, who writes with insouciance and wit about his memories of being an enthusiastic five-year-old cumpig.

We're not surprised. Perhaps get Nurse to proof your next paragraph before you hit Post. Or is it a bong issue?
