The wonderful Mary Kay Place

One actress that I'm always happy to see, no matter the part.

I watched the indie drama "Diane" last week and she was as good in that as she is in everything else. Plus she's a good singer and a writer (she wrote a couple of episodes of the original Mary Tyler Moore Show).

There's not much about her personal life anywhere. Is Mary Kay one of those under-the-radar Southern sapphic sisters?

Loved her in Tales of the City. At least the first one from 1993.

Is she cross-eyed or what.

Yes, she's slightly cross-eyed. On her, it's charming.

I've wondered if she's gay, too.

Loved her as Loretta on Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. In addition to MTM, she also co-wrote at least one episode of MASH, with Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, no less. Very interesting, but seemingly exceptionally private, person.

Everything she shows up in, she stands out in. Love her.

Mary Kay Place...one of the greats. She will be 72 on the 23rd of September.

She was amazing on Big Love as the Prophet's (Harry Dean Stanton) head wife.

She'd have been a better addition to "Designing Women" than Judith Ivey or Julia Duffy.

Debra Jo Rupp is the poor man's Mary Kay Place.

R9. Brilliant idea. Linda Bloodworth-Thomason should have asked you.

She’s good in everything. I break into a smile when I see her name in the credits. Who else can do that? Sally Field. Jeffrey Tambor.

She was the best part of Latter Days. She’s done a lot of gay-related projects so she seems like an ally if not gay herself.

r11 — I liked it. A quiet character study more than a major plot. It was on Hulu.

I loved her as the cunty, but loveable Surgeon General on many episodes of The West Wing.

If I ever become a real estate developer and create my own subdivision, I'm gonna name one of the streets "Mary Kay Place."

J'adore!

I'm convinced she's a stealthbian.

I've always loved her, she turns up in the best of films.

And her country album, "Aiming to Please"! Her "Marlboro Man" is a classic.

Nice joke on a recent Modern Family, when it was revealed Cam had been hounding his municipality to have their street renamed "Mary Kay Place".
