They both absolutely deserved their Oscar nominations.
The devilish delight on Eileen Brennan’s face and in every syllable she utters in the scene is a fucking riot. We know Judy is the protagonist, but we also know she needs the lessons she has coming, and we experience granting them to her through Eileen Brennan’s wickedly funny interplay with her.
