He wants to be Ricky Martin so damn bad.
He's already super popular across Latin America like Ricky was in the early to mid 90s, but
(1) he didn't have the worldwide-minus-the-US-hit before his World Cup song (like Ricky's Maria)
(2) his World Cup song flopped (unlike Cup of Life)
(3) him being on an awards show to showcase his talent and having Madonna crawl all over him is looking like a flop too
Like I think he's even "dating" a some reporter/presenter a la Rebecca de Alba? Or I think he did at some point.
The only difference between the two is Maluma is making himself to be more of a womanizer than Ricky ever did.

Yuck! Really tacky looking guy ,very ordinary and a dime a dozen in certain parts of Latin America. Madonna has very undeveloped taste in men. No wonder she is aging in such a grotesque manner.

R5 La Mordidita came out the year before Vente Pa Ca and was a fairly big hit/song of the summer so really La Mordidita was his first big hit since Tu Recuerdo/2006.
