After covering Jeffrey Dahmer in the first season who should the next season be about?

Ryan Murphy is slightly obsessed with gay serial killers. I kind of hope this next one is about a straight killer for a change.
| by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 7, 2022 6:42 PM |
It should be about a different director. Somebody, please, escort Ryan Murphy out the door. He's welcome to direct more episodes of the unwatchable "Glee," but the powers that be need to stop him from hijacking everything important '70s/'80s, '90s.

Leona Helmsley
Henry Clay Frick
Countess Elizabeth Báthory de Ecsed
Dr. Josef Mengele
Rasputin
Fatty Arbuckle
Ilse Koch
King Leopold II of Belgium

Season 2: Emma Roberts IS Karla Holmoka!
| by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 7, 2022 8:24 PM |
I can play Karla's sister who was murdered.
| by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 7, 2022 8:28 PM |
All of the other serial killers ever mentioned or shown in AHS. That's where this is heading, anyway, let's be real.
| by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 7, 2022 8:36 PM |
Monster : Ryan Murphy.
This overly prolific sadist tranny hack is the real monster. Ruining culture with his facile approach. Pastiche thief.
| by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 7, 2022 8:51 PM |
Hopefully it's not Gacy. I know he didnt only kill gay guys but I'm over the series about that. Also are the titled "monsters" only going to be serial killers?
| by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 7, 2022 8:55 PM |
Ryan Murphy haters are so pathetic. All he does is win and all they do is…. call him “tranny” anonymously on the internet.
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 7, 2022 8:57 PM |
Tim Roth as Peter Kurten, the Weimar-era "Vampire of Dussseldorf."
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 7, 2022 9:02 PM |
I love serial killers as much as the next guy, but what does it say about our culture that we celebrate evil over and over?
| by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 7, 2022 9:04 PM |
R19. You’re the pathetic one. Your taste levels suggest a real mediocre mind and educational background.
| by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 7, 2022 9:10 PM |
I figured the foreshadowing pointed to John Wayne Gacy, but I vote for John List.
| by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 8, 2022 1:18 AM |
I bet he does Dean Corll.
I would put money on it, in fact.
| by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 8, 2022 2:32 AM |
Maybe the Atlanta child killer of the early 80s. He is perhaps the most prolific serial most of America has never heard. I watch a grippling documentary with the fam last holiday season. It was absolutely spellbinding. I was familiar with him, but it was just so well done. Most people, outside of the black community who lived in the area during that time, have never heard of him. What makes it even more intriguing is many of the family members do not believe him to be the killer. I would love to see a fictionalized telling of this tale.
| by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 8, 2022 2:34 AM |
John Wayne Gacy so he'll have to get creative with casting unless he makes poor Evan Peters gain about 50 pounds.
| by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 8, 2022 2:47 AM |
Ted Cruz, rush Limbaugh, any of the trumps, desantis, Jack the Ripper, any conservative Republican
| by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 8, 2022 2:48 AM |
We haven't gotten a good Ed Gein movie or show in a while. Make one about him to go along with Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Silence of the Lambs.
| by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 8, 2022 2:49 AM |
Ryan Murphy. This bitch needs his own expose moment, he's behind so many scandalous things in Hollywood.
| by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 8, 2022 2:50 AM |
Make a Charles Manson one. I worry the idiot kids of today will think Once Upon a Time In Hollywood is how it really happened.
| by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 8, 2022 2:51 AM |
The next season should be about the hack Ryan Murphy, the biggest monster around!
| by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 8, 2022 2:51 AM |
Dean Corll would be tough. It is such a dark, brutal, sad story BUT the potential for a riveting story is there especially all the missing kids, many from the same school, just dismissed as runaways. Also, could Ryan resist showing a young Dean at the same elementary school in Pasadena, Texas as Sharon Tate?
| by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 8, 2022 2:53 AM |
R25, the Dean Corll case was discussed in the Dahmer thread, someone said it was too dark. Yes, darker than Jeffrey Dahmer.
| by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 8, 2022 2:57 AM |
R35 it’s incredibly dark but it set the record for killings at the time and they could do it in a way that focuses on the socioeconomic/gay issues of the time. The fact Corll had two teen accomplices would also add to potential drama.
| by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 8, 2022 3:00 AM |
They need to do one on the Oakland County Child Killer and their connection to the pedophile ring on North Fox Island.
| by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 8, 2022 3:36 AM |
Corll and Gacy were connected to a national pedophile ring. They may have known each other.
| by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 8, 2022 3:55 AM |
11 of Corll’s first 17 victims were found in child porn.
| by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 8, 2022 3:56 AM |
Maybe have a whole series on the weird pedophile rings of the 70s and their overlap with serial killers. Real life True Detective.
| by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 8, 2022 4:03 AM |
[quote]I figured the foreshadowing pointed to John Wayne Gacy, but I vote for John List.
I recently listened to a podcast about John List called Father Wants Us Dead. It was a well done podcast that didn't get much attention.
| by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 8, 2022 4:18 AM |
Is Dean Corll really darker than Dahmer? Dahmer cooked and ate his victims and lived with their carcasses. It doesn’t get much darker than that.
| by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 8, 2022 4:20 AM |
R30, very typical of a self hating gay like you.
| by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 8, 2022 4:24 AM |
As usual, Ryan is using my ideas from Datalounge. I posted several weeks ago that he should do a series of true crime shows for Netflix after the success of Dahmer, and then we have this announcement today. Just like clockwork. He also stole my idea for the current season on AHS, as well as numerous others.
I also stated that he should do a series on the Zodiac killer, so I'm sure Ryan is working on my idea as we speak.
| by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 8, 2022 4:30 AM |
He could do the Ramon Novarro story.
| by Anonymous | reply 50 | November 8, 2022 4:33 AM |
But it may be spread a bit thin to get 10 or so episodes out of it
| by Anonymous | reply 51 | November 8, 2022 4:34 AM |
I vote for Aileen, he will want to rehabilitate her image, and his, after the Dahmer backlash.
| by Anonymous | reply 52 | November 8, 2022 4:38 AM |
I think Isaac Powell has the look to play Richard Ramirez
| by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 8, 2022 4:45 AM |
They should pick a person based on who would cause the most backlash. I say the guy that shot up the movie theater as the joker. That would cause a lot of discourse.
| by Anonymous | reply 54 | November 8, 2022 4:45 AM |
R54 Perhaps "Monsters" about the 2 Columbine Killers. He already flirted with the idea of that in American Horror Story Season 1. He may as well go all the way with it.
| by Anonymous | reply 55 | November 8, 2022 4:55 AM |
[quote]Maybe the Atlanta child killer of the early 80s. He is perhaps the most prolific serial most of America has never heard
R26, They covered that in Mindhunter (With Jon Groff) S2.
| by Anonymous | reply 56 | November 8, 2022 4:58 AM |
Dave Cullen's Columbine book got optioned for a miniseries by Lifetime years ago. Tommy O'Haver the guy who wrote and directed that movie about Sylvia Likens was involved. There was backlash when the development deal was announced. I think Lifetime shelved the project.
| by Anonymous | reply 58 | November 8, 2022 4:59 AM |
R54 If he would decide to go the mass shooter route, that opens up a world of opportunities. Dylann Roof, James Holmes, Nikolas Cruz, Adam Lanza, Omar Mateen, Seung-Hui Cho, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, Stephen Paddock, Salvador Ramos... The list (unfortunately) goes on and on.
| by Anonymous | reply 59 | November 8, 2022 5:02 AM |
Mass shootings, no fucking way. Nope.
| by Anonymous | reply 60 | November 8, 2022 5:08 AM |
The killers he's featured on AHS before. He also featured The Black Dahlia on there. And that's not to mention his O.J. Simpson series. There aren't many murders left that he hasn't exploited at some point.

Aileen Wuornos. A movie called "Monster" about her as well as a show. They'll be nice companion pieces.
| by Anonymous | reply 62 | November 8, 2022 5:13 AM |
Bundy is an obvious answer. Both he and Dahmer are popular, both have had tons of movies and documentaries made about them. People know details about their crimes. "Dahmer" was well received because it focused on the victims stories. Most people know even less about Bundy's victims than Dahmer's. All the projects about Bundy have focused on the courtroom drama and how charismatic he was. Show the terrifying and sadistic monster he really was
| by Anonymous | reply 63 | November 8, 2022 5:17 AM |
Do they need to be killers, can't they just be Monster, like Leona Helmsley or Kathie Lee Gifford?
| by Anonymous | reply 65 | November 8, 2022 5:23 AM |
Susan Smith
Vince Li(that made me sick)
Marc Lépine
That quiverfull bitch in Texas who drowned her kids.

Another vote for John List — played by Zachary Quinto.

I never heard of Corll but Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre was loosely based on serial killer Ed Gein, he used the skin of his victims for clothes and their bones for furniture. He was also mentioned on the Dahmer series. I assume that's who Ryan Murphy might do next.
| by Anonymous | reply 74 | November 8, 2022 5:58 AM |
Murphy's currently got another new series on Netflix, based on occurrences at a home in Westfield, NJ. A List murder series might seem like he's got a fixation on the place.
| by Anonymous | reply 75 | November 8, 2022 6:41 AM |
He needs to do someone who hasn’t been done to death. I vote Corll due to the endless possibilities he could explore and because it was a massive story before Gacy eclipsed it only due to the clown angle. Otherwise, Corll would have been the one talked about today more than Gacy.

Dave should consider himself lucky then. Every Lifetime book adaptation is mangled garbage.
| by Anonymous | reply 77 | November 8, 2022 11:18 AM |
What about the Casanova Killer? People would get mad at that one cuz they would cast a hot guy again.
| by Anonymous | reply 78 | November 8, 2022 11:25 AM |
Dean Corral played by David Cornsweat
| by Anonymous | reply 79 | November 8, 2022 11:27 AM |
R37 Lily Rabe would nail that!
On "The Watcher" there was a heavy John List allusion. Maybe they'll be a unique crossover or something? Maybe have the same actor? I don't know. There was a t.v. movie about him with Robert Blake and it's uploaded online sometimes and it's scary as heck!
Evan Peters is a great actor but I hope he sits this next one out and takes a nice vacation somewhere pleasant. Call me a Datalounge Mary call me what you will.
Sarah Paulson I'm tired of. I don't want to see her in anything Ryan Murphy does anytime soon. She's a fine character actress but I'm just tired of her is all.
| by Anonymous | reply 80 | November 8, 2022 11:37 AM |
Lisa Rinna. Sarah Paulson can play herself. She's been shoved up Rinna's ass for years.

Gacy stood out more because he had a higher body count, he killed 33 people plus he wasn't your stereotypical weirdo that people ran away from, he was married with 2 kids of his own. The everyday average American white male living in a nice neighborhood. That is why he was so captivating.

Why was David Fincher's Mindhunter a flop compared to Murphy's Monster? Mindhunter is widely regarded by critics as Netflix's best show ever, while Monster got lukewarm reviews. I think if Mindhunter were released today, it would smash.
Mindhunter's coverage of the Atlanta child murders in season 2 was far superior to anything Murphy could ever do.

What about RiRi Speck?
Spectacular murders, coked out tranny whore in prison. heart attack the night before he turned 50. I don't know why she isn't more celebrated on DL.

It didn't flop in the ratings, Fincher dropped out and wanted to focus on other projects. I was a fan of the show and was sad to hear it may not come back.
