Blame TSA. They’ve normalized taking off shoes at airports. Pretty much everyone is baring their feet thanks to TSA. It’s gross and slows down security checkpoints. Plus, there are rarely available chairs/benches to redress after you’ve practically undressed and been physically xrayed at TSA checkpoints.

I used to drop in and read Tom Nichols on Twitter (@RadioFreeTom) before the Special K addict took over and rebranded/destroyed it. He has a special deep pocket of contempt in his heart for people who take their shoes off on planes. He must be apoplectic and hilarious (bitchy queen, yet straight) over thus, but I can't see current tweets without registering, only tweets from '20 or '21.

I wonder whether all this started with the large amount of heroin and other drugs he allegedly did in the years following his father's death. He was a teenager: it could easily have triggered a mental illness.

Creeped out by his stance on vaccines, but not so outraged over his traveling barefoot. Yes, it’s gross if he visited the bathroom barefoot, but I can’t be outraged over things like these. I see some celebrities take off their shoes in flight and in the club lounges pretty often. He’s an older guy but looks very fit, and I guess you have to stay fit to campaign for office.

I'm not outraged, but I think he's gross & stupid; he'd be the kind of guy that wouldn't wash for days so others would be grossed out by his stink. Like some weird little power trip in which everyone else has to tolerate his nasty self.
