I have never seen this show, but I learned about it today, and I am intrigued to see TVs first nighttime soap. I heard it was very popular and a great watch.
Did you watch it?
I know it has Barbara Parkins, who I am not a fan of. I am willing to give it a shot though. But it does have Mia Farrow, who I find tremendous!
Many of the episodes are on Youtube... here is episode 1

Never missed an episode. I was in high school (1964-1967) during those awesome television years: Wild, Wild West; I Spy; PP; Shindig; The Man from U.N.C.L.E.; and many more.

What about the follow up series, “Return to Peyton Place” and “Peyton Place: The Next Generation”? Lmao

Watched with my mom. I didn't understand it for the most part but I remember Mia Farrow and her hair.

My parents LOVED it. I've never seen an episode.

Yes, of course I watched! I was nine to 14-years old. Every Tuesday and Thursday night at 9:30. And then they added a third night, Friday at 9:30. Loved it. I watched with my mother.
I was a gay-in-training at a very early age.

I wish they would put it on a streaming service. I have always wanted to watch it. Sadly it didn't last as long as Coronation Street has in the UK, which was ABC's inspiration for bringing Peyton Place to US tv.
I've seen a few of the youtube episodes, but the youtube app on roku is too glitchy to watch a full series.

I just watched the two TV movies. Marj Dusay (RIP) is in the first one, "Murder in Peyton Place", and Stella Stevens repeats her brief role as a woman back in town for revenge who becomes quite over the top in her villainy. "Peyton Place: The Next Generation" tried to be the pilot for a potential series but was pretty bad. Actually, they both are because there is too much going on to really feel truly invested in it.

Wasnt there more than one Peyton Place series?

So we're more of a Harding Lemay Another World crowd from the 1970s than we are a Peyton Place crowd from the 1960s.
We're all in our mid to late 50s, yes?

I can't believe it's gotten a DVD release and Knots Landing hasn't.

Return to Peyton Place was like an alternate universe version of the story where characters came back from the dead or acted like they had never left town. A lot of popular soap actors (past and future) were on it but it didn't last long. Joseph Gallison, Margaret Mason, Katherine Glass, Lynn Loring, Susan Brown, Frank Maxwell, Norma Connelly and Mary Kay Wells were known from both NY and LA soaps.

I enjoyed it for the first couple of seasons.....especially the Mia Farrow/Ryan O'Neal/Barbara Parkins triangle..... And I like Chris Connelly as Ryan's brother Norman.
A lot of the adults were homely so I didn't pay much attention to their scenes. When Mia left and Leigh Taylor-Young or whatever her name was came on....I tuned out of the whole thing.
I have the first two volumes of the DVD's.....okay for an afternoon or evening of viewing now and then. Oh my - it looks like Volumes 3-5 are available.....
