Lucie said that it was insulting and the whole thing was just making fun of and mocking her father.
I remember the episode and it had Desi Jr in it as well. Whilst it was not a great episode, I didn't find it insulting.
What do you think?

The sketch where Jane Curtin as Vivian Vance molested Little Ricky, played by Desi Sr., didn't get one laugh.

I did like the one sketch where Lucy left Little Ricky in the park while she tried to sneak into the Tropicana showgirl auditions and Little Ricky accidentally got Polio.
Then Lucy spent all her household money on a new dress and hat, so when the power was turned off, Lucy and Ethel had to pump Little Ricky's Iron Lung manually.
Ricky's reaction was priceless!

I think Lucie is a little more guarded about Desi's memory...
In part, because Lucy said so many terrible things about him publicly over the years.
But Lucie doesn't mind telling you what a controlling bitch Lucy was.

I'm so old, I remember seeing this when it originally aired. I loved the part where they did all the riffs on "I Love Lucy." By today's standards, this show seems a little slow moving. But the SNL of the 70s is rather different from how it works now.

Lucie should learn to roll with the punches.

Lucie was the original choice to play Rizzo in Grease, Jade in Endless Love and the Kathleen Turner role in Body Heat. Imagine what a career she could have had if she had made better choices.

A bit off topic but Gilda as Lucy telling Bill Murray she was retired was hilarious.
"No, Bill. I'm retired. I am happily married. I have two extremely untalented children and I'm content to sit in my garden with Rose Marie and talk about how time has ravaged our faces."

I found Lucie to be quite fair with her mother. She defends her when appropriate and doesn't condone her bad behavior. Lucie said to hear her mother talk you'd think she ad Desi hated each other but Lucie said her parents would be talking to each other every other day and the children always had lot of time with Desi and free access to both parents and both parent's new spouses.
The worst I have heard Lucie speak of Desi (and Lucy) was on Ruta Lee. She said they were all such good friend and Desi pulled out the stops to get people he liked less and thought had less talents breaks. But neither of her parents, did anything to help Ruta's career, which she considered odd since they were all such good friends

30-yr. old Lucie would have been too old to star in "Endless Love" (1981). She'd have to borrow Lucy's camera filters to play a teen.

Ruta Lee fun fact:
"In 1964, Lee called then-Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev, asking him to pardon her grandmother Ludvise Kamandulis, who had been in an internment camp in Siberia since World War II. The pardon was granted, and Lee's grandmother came to live with her in California in 1964. Kamandulis died two years later."
