Why the divorce - who initiated it? Was the divorce what landed her in the 'leg chair' in The Five on Fox News and the downward spiral?

They divorced because of both their careers. She wanted to transition to media star which required she leave SF and move to NY and he was planning a run for governor. I've also heard they both cheated during their marriage. Newsom is on the record for fucking his druggie/drunk assistant/secretary when they were separated but prior to that I've heard they had affairs.
KG is a social climbing golddigger with no shame. I honestly think she was once pretty but she looks like an old broad now.

Her mom died when she was young. No moral compass. Irish immigrant builder dad in SF. It's a tough culture. Social climbing, but so repressed and Catholic and judgmental.
I think she used Gavin to get to the media position and he was stupid to think she'd be his Gal Friday, but God, did they seem perfect to me as a kid.

I was in SF during the murder-by-dog trial, which got enormous amounts of media coverage. KG looked attractive, came across as sane, etc. The dog mauling was extremely horrible, not unlike time and KG's choices eviscerating her.

The ironic thing is that aside from screwing around, she probably thought Gav wasn't going anywhere and so she dumped him for what seemed like greener (and richer) pastures. But Gav straightened up, cleaned up & now is on an upward trajectory and the ex-husband is remarried with a new family. Meanwhile, she's Jr's caretaker (and you know their relationship is just about drugs) and even Dump is talking shit about her so you can only imagine what he says in private.
I'm guessing she's one of those people that doesn't really believe in anything - she wants to be famous and she doesn't really care how she goes about it. She's Team MAGA now, but you know if she could trade places with Gav's wife & be Mrs. Newsom, Gov of CA & likely the next Senator (replacing ancient DiFi), she'd do it a heartbeat.
