R53, I'm not sure what the status of the gay novel production is.
Julian had a couple of other projects lined up a while back, but they got delayed by Covid-19. One project was another collaboration with author Patrick Gale (who wrote 'Man in an Orange Shirt'). Another project was a European horror movie about several friends travelling down the Danube River directed by Kieran Evans (who directed Julian in 'Kelly + Victor').

Despite his wealth and privileged upbringing, Landon has certainly had to deal with a lot of loss in his life. His parents had an unpleasant divorce, his sister died (likely suicide) and now his Mom has died earlier than expected for a woman today.
Julian has certainly been the bright spot in his life.

And it seems like the connection to Thiel's husband might be via L&J's German-billionaire buddy, Christian Angermayer, since he and Thiel have had previous dealings, and Thiel is now a big investor in Angermayer's magic mushroom company, Atai - the one that L&J helped him launch on the stock market IPO.
