Has anything at Shark Tank become a huge seller?

I bought a beanbag that becomes a spare bed (Corda-Ray)—it’s fine but it’s huge.

Have you ever bought anything shown on Shark Tank?

What’s its record of success?

I think Scrub Daddy (Lori’s) is the biggest seller.

DoorBot went on to become Ring doorbell, sold to Amazon for a billion dollars. Not one shark invested.

Atlas Monroe vegan fried chicken. (The best vegan chicken that exists.) Mark Cuban offered her a million for the entire company. She turned it down.

Lori's "simply fit board," which starred Steve Grand's hot boyfriend in the ad.

The show is excellent entertainment but not 100% honest, as you probably already suspected. Oftentimes, deals made on-camera don't close, and sometimes, the company seeking an investment gets a deal off-camera after being skewered on TV. The sharks have made some spectacularly bad investments (Breathometer) and passed on a few good ones (DoorBot).

There's a lipstick brand called The Lip Bar that was made fun of on the show, and now it's sold in Targets and Walmarts all over the country.

Bombas was on Shark Tank.

The Squatty Potty was a hit for awhile until people figured out a small step stool worked as well.

R8 or even just bending forward

Scrub Daddys are fantastic.

by Anonymousreply 12October 14, 2022 2:45 AM

Spattys are very useful. Also love the Scrub Daddy.

by Anonymousreply 13October 14, 2022 2:47 AM

I like scrub daddies because the last 1-2 weeks longer than a regular sponge (1 week)

Were Dude Wipes a Shark Tank thing?

I bought a pack but they've been sitting in my bathroom cabinet for years at this point. I guess I'm supposed to carry a pack in my wallet

by Anonymousreply 16October 14, 2022 2:42 PM

A lot of times they make deals for crappy products and pass on really good ones.

I know someone who got a deal, but didn’t close because another investor reached out to him after seeing him in the show. I’m sure he got the better deal with the private investor.

After seeing your post, I thought I'd like to try some. Too bad the website doesn't work

by Anonymousreply 18October 14, 2022 2:57 PM

Yes they're a 2015 Shark Tank thing. I have a bidet at home but I take Dude Wipes when traveling.

by Anonymousreply 19October 14, 2022 4:59 PM

R19, I bought a portable bidet for traveling— there are manual and battery operated ones on Amazon.

I get the medicated dude wipes, they are awesome and cheaper than the prep H ones. They breakdown unlike most wipes that form Fatbergs in the sewer pipes.

Has Rounderbum taken off?

by Anonymousreply 24October 15, 2022 1:36 AM

r15 I use a regular sponge for about 6 months.

by Anonymousreply 25October 15, 2022 2:41 AM

I don't wipe for 6 months

by Anonymousreply 27October 15, 2022 10:29 PM

Squatty Potty and Ugly Christmas Sweaters, both of which were featured on the show, became big sellers.

The founders and Kevin O'Leary only made money from Plated by selling it to Albertsons. Once Albertsons got a look at the books, they realized they had bought a dumpster fire and shuttered it within a year. Nice work if you can get it.

by Anonymousreply 34November 3, 2022 9:26 PM

Right, Albertsons acquired it for $300 million dollars!
