She’s been soooo quiet this year. She must be rattling like an angry tea kettle, ready to exploded.
Someone is telling her to keep her trap shut—a very wise PR strategy—but she won’t be able to do so for much longer. The gossip that they were negotiating for master of ceremony duties at the coronation concert is so ridiculous that I believe it. Exactly the tin-ear stunt these fools would pull. If this was a legit request, H/M should be kissing the palace’s ass for preventing them from that suicide mission.
Anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows that this level of heightened drama can’t be sustained. If they’d announced early on that they wouldn’t be attending the coronation but wished Charles well, blah, blah, blah, I’d be laying odds that the marriage would survive. It would have been an indication that they were acknowledging that there was a family rupture that best not be messed with at the moment and they were finally focusing on their lives outside of it.
But now, after the needless, self-manufactured will-they-won’t-they nonsense that got them what exactly? The ability to call their American kids Prince and Princess (setting them up for a world of abuse in the schoolyard)? Securing Harry a seat next to the Yorks at the coronation? Crystal clear message from the palace and UK that no one wants them there except Charles—and he wants Harry there, I’m sure, mainly to save face.
This notion that Charles yearns to repair his relationship with Harry and see his grandkids is a bizarre fantasy. I’m sure Charles regrets what happened but highly doubt he spends much time thinking about them at all beyond the nuisance they’re causing.
Isn’t that how Harry portrayed Charles in his book? A decent guy but a remote father who didn’t really have the skills to parent?
And isn’t this why Harry is ginning up this drama? To get daddy to pay attention to him?
I can’t see how the marriage will survive this. They’ve played all their cards and have no more chips to cash in. They made a mint on Harry’s book, but how far will that take them? They’re not going to downsize and live within their means. That doesn’t fit with Meghan’s strategy to be the world’s ultimate influencer.
Ironically, I think Harry would be satisfied with a pat on the head and a grace-and-favor ranch in Africa—with some flunky to plan out his days and make all his decisions.
That’s why he chose Meghan—she is the one who is making decisions for him. And they are uniformly bad decisions.
This is how it will play out: she’s got a little Prince and Princess in her control now, so Harry is irrelevant. She’ll leave him within the year. He’s given her plenty of ammunition—drugs, drinking, mental illness. His family will give him cover and he’ll return to being an overgrown, irresponsible boy who is as engaged with his kids as his dad was with him.
Meghan will destroy her kids by villianizing their dad and pulling all the tricks from the narcissist parenting book.
It’s so predictable.
