Fran is a bit of a kook, but she did co-write, produce and star in a successful tv show, so I assumed she knew all sides of working with both creatives and suits. I think as far as that era went, she did know. It is no longer the same game, which now she also knows.
Although somewhat of an anti-vaxxer she worked with the other theatrical unions and got the "Back to Work Protocols" up and running. That was a major success in safely getting filmed entertainment back on its feet and regardless of her personal beliefs she led a great team. I don't think there was a single Covid case traced back to being on a film or tv set.
Hearing her impassioned, plainspoken speech yesterday made me very proud to be a member of SAG-AFTRA. I think it reached a lot of people in the labor movement and was one for the record books.

Sometimes a relationship between a closet case and his best friend can produce, and last a lifetime. There's a guy I know who I swear has exactly that marriage, he's so femme he practically leaves a trail of glitter wherever he goes, but he and his wife are about 70 now, and are still best friends, and spend their golden years cheerfully visiting their kids and grandkids, and traveling together. Frankly, they seem happier than most married couples.
Maybe Fran was hoping for the same sort of thing, but well. It's rare for a closet case/fag hag marriage to be long and happy.
