I watched my first movie starring this couple last night.
And I kept on getting reminders of Liz and Monty in the 1951 ‘A Place in the Sun – a man is caught in a moral dilemma between two grasping women and he gets sent off to jail.
He looks like Burt Lancaster but he’s very passive. He works as a lighthouse keeper which usually means someone who is slightly mad. But then he gets involved with a woman who looks Polynesian but who eventually gets madder. And 2/3 of the way through this over-long movie we see Rachel Weisz (without make-up) who has mad scenes as well.
Vikander, the first woman in in this poorly-edited movie ends up as annoying as Greta Thunberg.
