Euphoria's Angus Cloud is DEAD TO ME.

Oh man. Sounds like he took his own life?

by Anonymousreply 2July 31, 2023 10:51 PM

Gee, an obvious druggie is dead?

by Anonymousreply 3July 31, 2023 10:52 PM

Maybe r2, could just be a drug overdose.

by Anonymousreply 4July 31, 2023 10:52 PM

Aww, his dad just died last week. Poor kid.

by Anonymousreply 6July 31, 2023 10:55 PM

This is sad. Art imitating life. RIP to him.

by Anonymousreply 8July 31, 2023 10:57 PM

[quote]"Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

That sounds pretty suicide-y.

by Anonymousreply 9July 31, 2023 10:58 PM

Statement seems to imply that he couldn’t cope with his father’s death and committed suicide, heartbreaking.

by Anonymousreply 10July 31, 2023 10:59 PM

Well Fez didn’t die in Euphoria. And now I’m certain we will never get a season 3

by Anonymousreply 11July 31, 2023 10:59 PM

R11 Fez was the type of character that was destined to meet a sad fate tho.

by Anonymousreply 12July 31, 2023 11:00 PM

They killed off the brother because he would have a full beard and be 6’6” by the time the show returned. They should’ve killed off Fez too.

by Anonymousreply 13July 31, 2023 11:00 PM

Wouldn’t wish suicidal thoughts on my worst enemy.

by Anonymousreply 14July 31, 2023 11:01 PM

R12 or turn his life around. Fact is Fez didn’t die. He lived. Ash died.

by Anonymousreply 15July 31, 2023 11:02 PM

So sad. There were stories earlier about how his former manager exposed his prescription drug addiction so I'm guessing it was an overdose.

by Anonymousreply 17July 31, 2023 11:03 PM

I'm wondering the same thing. Between The Idol being an embarrassment, Fez dying, and Zendaya's career taking off is there ever going to be a Season 3 of Euphoria.

by Anonymousreply 19July 31, 2023 11:03 PM

A. He battled with mental health issues. B. He had addiction issues. C. He couldn’t deal with his fathers death.

by Anonymousreply 20July 31, 2023 11:03 PM

Goddamnit, That former manager was right- He had major, major issues.

I absolutely LOVED this guy on Euphoria.

So sad..

by Anonymousreply 21July 31, 2023 11:04 PM

It seems like if you already struggle with depression/anxiety etc., going into the entertainment industry exacerbates those issues.

by Anonymousreply 24July 31, 2023 11:05 PM

This is so sad . These Z kids are so fragile

by Anonymousreply 25July 31, 2023 11:16 PM

25 is a difficult age, especially if not where you think you should already be in life.

by Anonymousreply 27July 31, 2023 11:18 PM

SAD. Has Zendaya issued a statement from her residence that she does not share with Tom Holland?

by Anonymousreply 28July 31, 2023 11:20 PM

Lmao. R27 please. 25 is 25. Not 35, where you’re near 40. You’re fresh out of college by a short few years. Your life is starting.

by Anonymousreply 29July 31, 2023 11:21 PM

R29 you can laugh all you want but there’s a reason a lot of young people commit suicide around this age.

by Anonymousreply 30July 31, 2023 11:23 PM

R30 and it’s not usually because they “aren’t where they wanna be in life”. Again, 25 is shortly after college. Your career life is starting. Not ending.

by Anonymousreply 31July 31, 2023 11:24 PM

Sad. His character seemed more authentic than others. There’s a lot of silly, overacting in the show, but not from him. RIP.

by Anonymousreply 32July 31, 2023 11:26 PM

R31 But to many people it does feel like the end, especially if you’re not where you want to be in life. There’s too much pressure at that age and not everyone can cope with it.

by Anonymousreply 33July 31, 2023 11:27 PM

R31 Schizophrenia and other mental illnesses come on in the late teens and early 20s, especially for young men.

Cloud was so refreshingly "natural" in Euphoria, with that sweet nature that also could probably be violent when/if needed. Knew a lot of young guys like him back in my drug running days.

by Anonymousreply 34July 31, 2023 11:28 PM

[quote] Another Fettinol death?

Oh, dear.

by Anonymousreply 35July 31, 2023 11:28 PM

R33 your ridiculous reasoning behind a rise in suicidal deaths with Gen Z is offensive. You’re a retard. Mental health issues are very real. To cheapen it to “not being where I wanna be in life in my early 20s” is fucking RETARDED.

by Anonymousreply 36July 31, 2023 11:29 PM

Sorry about this young man. Sounds like he really struggled through life and then his dad dies. So damned sad. R.I.P.

by Anonymousreply 38July 31, 2023 11:30 PM

R37 GROW UP. Get out of moms house. What the fuck would you know about adulthood? You’re a grown man living off your mom. Angus moved to NY and got cast on a show. He filmed a movie last year. He was doing fine.

by Anonymousreply 39July 31, 2023 11:30 PM

R36, I agree . He had a lot going for him and a pretty great gig .

by Anonymousreply 40July 31, 2023 11:31 PM

that makes 3 for such a short period of time

by Anonymousreply 43July 31, 2023 11:45 PM

They used to call it a quarter life crisis. 25 is hard on a lot of people. I always thought he looked like Sacred Heart Jesus.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 44July 31, 2023 11:47 PM

We know “quarter life crisis” is a thing. But people don’t kill themselves because of it most times. His situation was dark and you’re cheapening it to something so petty and childish.

by Anonymousreply 45July 31, 2023 11:50 PM

Very sad, though I recall some awards show (?) that guy was clearly high as a kite. Not even hiding it.

When I read about this guy's death, after the initial (somewhat) shock, my next thought was: god, Maude Apatow is going to be all over social media with self-serving grief porn.

by Anonymousreply 46August 1, 2023 12:00 AM

Maude Apatow is busy working. She will probably release a sweet message, but the show must go on.

by Anonymousreply 47August 1, 2023 12:01 AM

Poor guy. In his interviews it seemed that he probably didn't need to do a whole lot of acting for the role of Fezco as he seemed pretty out of it all the time. Sad to do this at 25 though.

by Anonymousreply 49August 1, 2023 12:52 AM

Gosh that's so tough to bury your husband and then a week later find your 25 year old son dead.

by Anonymousreply 51August 1, 2023 1:01 AM

Shades of Brad Renfro and so many others, where an actor cast for being "authentic" turns out to be just that.

by Anonymousreply 52August 1, 2023 1:01 AM

Brad Renfro was a very different situation

by Anonymousreply 53August 1, 2023 1:04 AM

Sam Levinson released a statement

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 54August 1, 2023 1:14 AM

Unfortunately, Zendaya's still here.

by Anonymousreply 55August 1, 2023 1:46 AM

We're gonna miss you, Conor Hickey!

by Anonymousreply 56August 1, 2023 1:48 AM

[quote] Oh man. Sounds like he took his own life?

These generation z young people are so selfish. He should give it back!

by Anonymousreply 57August 1, 2023 1:51 AM

Do you suppose he died of natural causes?

by Anonymousreply 58August 1, 2023 2:57 AM

That’s so sad he was my favorite on euphoria.

by Anonymousreply 60August 1, 2023 3:53 AM

Now we'll never get to see him hate fucking Jacob Elordi.

by Anonymousreply 61August 1, 2023 3:55 AM

I can say I agree with r30. 30 and 35 were nothing for me but for some reason 25 was hard. I really felt like a failure and old. It’s laughable now but it’s how I felt

by Anonymousreply 62August 1, 2023 3:59 AM

Same here, r62. Twenty five was tough.

by Anonymousreply 64August 1, 2023 5:22 AM

Sweetie. It’s tough because you’re unemployed and living off your mother.

Angus wasn’t. He filmed more than one movie last year and has been working on things. His mother said she believes he overdosed, yet you’re here making up a complete storyline about a 25 year old with money vs your broke ass.

by Anonymousreply 66August 1, 2023 5:24 AM

No statement from Zendaya? Cold

by Anonymousreply 67August 1, 2023 6:23 AM

Horrible, but people who praised his acting on Euphoria were delusional, he literally just played himself with no deviation. And his costars kept pointing out in interviews how he was exactly like that in real life as well. Like, that's not a compliment, hon.

by Anonymousreply 68August 1, 2023 7:22 AM

RIp Angus. Agree he seemed to be playing himself, but he gave off a good vibe. Between this and the strike, I wonder if Euphoria will come back before all the high school characters age out. They should do a spin off the show to follow the Eric Dane character.

by Anonymousreply 69August 1, 2023 11:50 AM

R53 True, Brad was a 26-year old actor who killed himself with drugs - Angus was 25.

by Anonymousreply 70August 1, 2023 11:52 AM

R70 No wait, I'm wrong - Brad was 25 also.

by Anonymousreply 71August 1, 2023 11:53 AM

R68 sweetie, that’s a talent in itself. Being able to be yourself believably with scripted lines is still an achievement. Most of us couldn’t even do that and would sound mechanical and terrible.

by Anonymousreply 72August 1, 2023 2:13 PM

R70 their entire situations were different. You’re looking at it from a very basic lens. Not shocking.

by Anonymousreply 73August 1, 2023 2:14 PM

r69 a spin off with Eric Dane would just be called and Oz reboot. Since he was arrested at the end of S2, the most you will see from Cal's character is a lot of anal sex in prison. I would 100% watch!

by Anonymousreply 74August 1, 2023 4:28 PM

He was likely playing himself (a lot of actors do), but he really brought a much needed pathos to the show; the scene where Rue (fresh of of rehab) wants drugs and he won't let her in as she screams at him outside the door was really powerful.

by Anonymousreply 75August 1, 2023 5:13 PM

I've watched the awful skateboard movie 'North Hollywood' more than once to see another actor, but Angus was probably the best thing in the film. Maybe someone will clip his scenes so you don't have to sit through the rest of it. I don't know how.

by Anonymousreply 76August 1, 2023 5:57 PM

Sad. He was the only actor on the show I would have wanted to f*ck in real life.

by Anonymousreply 77August 1, 2023 6:44 PM

[quote] Cloud was so refreshingly "natural" in Euphoria, with that sweet nature that also could probably be violent when/if needed. Knew a lot of young guys like him back in my drug running days.

Shoving balloons full of xtasy tablets up your butt is "drug running"?!

by Anonymousreply 78August 1, 2023 6:49 PM

r77 you would have skipped over Eric Dane or Jacob Elordi? You must be blind.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 79August 1, 2023 6:52 PM

With all due respect R67, I have my own problems.

by Anonymousreply 80August 1, 2023 6:53 PM

R67 none of the main cast have said anything but Javon Walton, who played his little brother Ash. Sam Levinson released a statement, of course, as well as HBO. None of the rest of the cast have said anything yet. Javon and him worked very closely as their characters were always together so it makes sense Javon said something before anyone else, not to mention he was a kid working with him on season 1 and a teen on season 2 so this is probably very sad to him.

Weird how you only mention Zendaya when Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demi, Barbie Ferreira, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi etc. have all said nothing yet. Hell, not even the pornstar who played Faye has said anything yet and she worked almost exclusively with him on season 2.

by Anonymousreply 81August 1, 2023 8:15 PM

Maybe they know things about him that are problematic.

by Anonymousreply 82August 1, 2023 8:28 PM

Or they have publicists who told them not to say anything yet.

by Anonymousreply 83August 1, 2023 8:39 PM

His mother said overdose.

by Anonymousreply 84August 1, 2023 8:40 PM

Their publicists will tell them the right time to say anything. Probably after other people give their condolences, and that’s when the main cast drops their condolences and make headlines.

No publicity is bad publicity in Hollywood, especially if you have a costar who dies.

by Anonymousreply 85August 1, 2023 8:43 PM

They also all probably can read between the lines at this point and know Euphoria season 3 is probably not happening. Between the constant delays to start filming (they were supposed to originally start filming last fall/winter and then it was pushed to around March and then pushed to around May and then pushed back again only for the strike to happen once they were about to finally start filming) to the cast all working on numerous projects now to Zendaya wanting out to Dominic Fike recently speaking about how hard it was to stay sober while working on this show to now Angus dying of a possible overdose… yeah. HBO is probably trying to figure out what to do.

by Anonymousreply 86August 1, 2023 8:47 PM

Zendaya posted this 10 minutes ago, as we discussed the cast not saying anything yet lol.

I never thought I would feel this tired at 25.

by Anonymousreply 88August 1, 2023 9:55 PM

R88 is from Jewels in St Elmo’s Fire

by Anonymousreply 89August 1, 2023 9:56 PM

Apparently he left a mute and it read “all this time I was afraid you’d find out I wasn’t fabulous.”

by Anonymousreply 90August 2, 2023 1:09 AM

His acting wasn't Oscar worthy by any means. Quite the opposite. And yet... it was definitely something special. His character stood out. Evoked more than he had any right to.

His character had a really interesting arc too. I'm sad we'll never get to see the rest of it.

I'm with others thinking that Euphoria Season 3 probably won't happen at this point. No sign of an end to the actors and writers strikes. Everyone aging out and wanting to move on. And let's face it: The second half of season 2 was kinda not great.

by Anonymousreply 91August 2, 2023 1:24 AM

I watched a random interview with him from a few months ago. The fact that he was using would have been obvious from Mars. No surprise that he OD'd . Sad though. 25 is too young for anyone to die of something so stupid.

by Anonymousreply 92August 2, 2023 3:26 AM

He had old parents—his dad was 66 and his mom 68 I believe.

by Anonymousreply 93August 3, 2023 9:52 AM

Man, he was pretty. Blue eyes, red hair, and a world of swagger.

by Anonymousreply 94August 3, 2023 11:01 AM

He cleaned up nicely and definitely had the X factor.

by Anonymousreply 97August 3, 2023 2:02 PM

He looks a bit like Conor McGregor in the picture at OP.

by Anonymousreply 99August 3, 2023 5:25 PM

[quote]none of the main cast have said anything but Javon Walton

I miss the days when people didn't keep track of who has and hasn't engaged in performative acts of public grief.

by Anonymousreply 100August 3, 2023 5:33 PM

Life imitating art, or art imitating life?

I'm sad we'll never get to see where his character was poised to go next.

But then again, we may never get to see where ANY of the characters were going to go next...

by Anonymousreply 101August 3, 2023 10:20 PM

[quote]Same here, [R62]. Twenty five was tough.

27 is tougher, because you die.

His mother refutes rumors that he committed suicide:

by Anonymousreply 103August 5, 2023 11:44 PM

Maybe she just doesn't want to believe.

Maybe she's right, but only he really knows.

by Anonymousreply 104August 5, 2023 11:46 PM

Is it a case that so called 'cool' people enter show biz...or get invited to party's and fit it or pretend to fit in by taking drugs? I have never been into drugs, I'm too vain, but I've been left out of gatherings and trips by friends, cos I'm too clean cut. So, would I be excluded from said parties as a bore...or wud I have had to go along with the drugs to get on???

by Anonymousreply 107August 6, 2023 12:49 AM

There is such a thing as an unintentional OD, depending on the substance and the potentially changing chemistry of the person. That the guy was on a self-destructive course is obvious (the same could be said of smokers), but it isn't proof that he was knowingly suicidal.

by Anonymousreply 108August 6, 2023 2:38 AM

R5 Nothing rough about him you old bitch.

by Anonymousreply 109August 6, 2023 2:44 AM

That clip at R106 reminded me of Mushmouth from the Fat Albert show (yes, I'm old). It kind of makes you feel sorry for the people forced to interview these tools & try to get some sort of reasonable coherent sound byte out them.

by Anonymousreply 110August 6, 2023 11:37 AM

R10, Both designer Alexander McQueen and author Wendy Leigh committed suicide because they could not deal with the recent deaths of their mothers.

by Anonymousreply 111August 6, 2023 11:44 AM

He looked like James Gandolfini. He also seemed really, really stupid

by Anonymousreply 112August 6, 2023 11:46 AM

On what planet does he look like James gandolfini?

by Anonymousreply 113August 6, 2023 9:38 PM

Probably was able to buy more drugs with his Netflix salary.

by Anonymousreply 114August 7, 2023 7:13 AM

R113 He looks just like him with red hair. Sorry you probably found this dumb Eminem attractive and James not but it's the same damn face

by Anonymousreply 115August 7, 2023 9:32 AM

I think he looks like a skinny Sam Smith.

by Anonymousreply 117August 7, 2023 2:16 PM

That's a bit closer. A skinny, MUCH better looking Sam Smith.

by Anonymousreply 118August 7, 2023 2:46 PM

It was a drug overdose, not a suicide like some were speculating.

by Anonymousreply 119September 22, 2023 1:58 PM

R119 which some of us said on here only for certain posters to act like they KNEW it was a suicide.

by Anonymousreply 120September 22, 2023 2:00 PM

I’m really square these days so forgive me for asking but do people mix all of those drugs together

by Anonymousreply 123September 22, 2023 4:11 PM

Clearly he did and died because of it r123

by Anonymousreply 124September 22, 2023 4:16 PM

Addicts are ticking bombs - I'm just glad he didn't take anyone else with him.

by Anonymousreply 125September 22, 2023 10:21 PM

I can't even count the number of times I have taken a combination of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and more.

by Anonymousreply 126September 22, 2023 10:25 PM

Nowadays you just have to take one fake pressed pill that you bought as an Oxy and it will have all that shit in it. Or he started his day on meth and came down with something else.

by Anonymousreply 127September 22, 2023 10:28 PM

He was one of the standouts on Euphoria. His fate is very very similar to Brad Renfro or Justin Pierce (from Kids). Many times these casting directors try to find real kids from the “wrong side of the tracks” to add realism to their shows or movies but the Hollywood lifestyle chews them up and spits them out. If they already had some serious childhood trauma and drug addiction throwing them into a messed up industry like Hollywood surrounded by enablers, users and predators just worsens their conditions. It’s really not a shock if they further unravel. But Hollywood will never learn

by Anonymousreply 128September 22, 2023 10:39 PM

Yeah he was the best on euphoria imho. Hot too

by Anonymousreply 129September 22, 2023 11:02 PM

R128 There's nothing for them to "learn" - they want to wring these kids for whatever they can get from them. They are always more troubled kids, more pretty kids, more WHATEVER kids for them to snap up. They don't care.

by Anonymousreply 130September 24, 2023 11:42 PM

Sam Levinson has opened up for the first time about the accidental overdose death of Euphoria star Angus Cloud. In a new interview, Levinson revealed the lengths that were taken to help Cloud find recovery including an intervention, a rehab stay that was paid for by HBO and series rewrites to keep his character alive as a way to get the late actor excited about the future.
