I'd be making the same jokes as above, but my mum and her best friend were scheduled to come out to see Celine in January. (My mum could care less, but it's her best friend's longtime dream to see Celine.) I had to break the news to them this morning and haven't heard anything back from either of them. There's plenty of other things to do in Vegas, but they were basing the trip out her from the East Coast on seeing Celine.
Celine was notorious for cancelling before her husband died. Cher is as well, and Bruno Mars recently because he got Covid. Lesson to be learned is, there's never a guarantee that a headliner will go on. Especially in Vegas with the dry weather, booze, coke, etc.

It could be a business illness - she lost a lawsuit with a former manager, and has to continue paying him his percentage for the next five years on her Vegas shows. Perhaps she's signaling that she'll be "sick" and "unable to perform" until someone (the venue's owners) pays off her former manager.

She cancelled the third leg of her "Dressed To Kill" Tour (Fall 2014) due to a viral infection. She was sixty-eight at the time. In the course of three years (2017-2020) she cancelled a total of six "Classic Cher" shows due to illness (she was over seventy years old at the time). The rest of the cancelled "Here We Go Again" Tour shows were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Don't forget the bitch toured for three straight years (2002-2005) on the "Living Proof: The Farewell Tour", and only cancelled seven shows in that entire time (all of which were logistical).

Agree with others who don't like her music but enjoy her personality and zest for life. But apparently not for eating!
Hard to say if she's ana or dealing w/ a medical issue. Most women's bodies react to stress by accumulating fat as they get older. The metabolism slows down. But she might be in the minority of women that unintentionally waste away when overworked- it can happen. Often these women feel as self conscious as the fat ones because they know they look really severe. To be so thin is super aging.
As Catherine Deneuve once said "At a certain age, a woman has to choose between her ass or her face."
The crazy ensembles and preening for the paps does point to ana though....because she's very conscious of her body and seems proud of how it is looking, atm. So there's likely a dysmorphia thing happening- she thinks she looks good!

I hope she sees a good nutritionist and investigates the possibility that this is a severe magnesium deficiency before she jumps to any other conclusions. I was practically an invalid for about a year before I got on the right supplement, and it was as simple as that! R74 She's everything that you probably expect from a Celine performance, Most of her music is schmaltzy cheese, but her personality makes the show. She's kooky, sometimes veering into rambling stories (the last time I saw her she had one about how she thought she was going to be in the Ryan Reynolds movie that she wrote Ashes to Ashes for, and spent time practicing kissing him in a mirror), she is gracious beyond words to her fans. Fairly simple staging, but there's a certain feeling of drama to it all.
I saw the tour when the Titanic song was everywhere and her voice was incredibly powerful. I saw her early in the Vegas run and then a few years ago in Vegas. As some have noted, she lip synchs parts of the Vegas show now, but she has taken care of her voice and it still sounds fantastic in my opinion. Obviously isn't going to sound like it did 20 years ago.
