Gale King’s interview is Sunday!

Yeah but nobody likes Gayle King, R1.

Rearrange the sets! Paint the mics!

Did anyone watch this last night? I searched for a thread on Google, and only this one came up.

Extremely boring. Even for Streisand.

See the Mandy thread for an excerpt.

I watched the interview and I was surprised by it. That Barbara was so calm and sharp as a tack. It was a good interview.

I really enjoyed when Babs shut down Steven's stupid "eye comment" game on which men were good kissers. She wasn't having it and was very nice about it.

So far her interview with Howard Stern was her best one. Who knew Stern was such a fangirl of Babs? He was gushing over her in almost every sentence while also managing to ask her some great questions.

by Anonymousreply 10November 14, 2023 1:34 PM

Ok I'll see or listen to that one, too.

by Anonymousreply 11November 14, 2023 1:50 PM

She’s conducting the world’s first stay-at-home book tour.

by Anonymousreply 12November 14, 2023 1:58 PM

Weren't Stern's parents huge fans, r10?

by Anonymousreply 13November 14, 2023 4:46 PM

He is very funny - asking her if she considered calling that doll room "Hello Dolly" cracked me up!

by Anonymousreply 14November 14, 2023 5:40 PM

I thought the book would be pink.

Her real self is so different than the fast-talking, bubbly ditzes she played in movies. Where did she get that character? In interviews she talks verrry slowly and deliberately, overthinking each word.

by Anonymousreply 16November 14, 2023 9:07 PM

When she was young she spoke more like her characters. As she got older she got more deliberate and overthinking.

Stern is a decade younger and came of age when Streisand was a major movie/pop star.

Many middle-aged people or older have fond memories of their youth and everyone involved.

What does someone like the long suffering Renata get paid? We hear her being summed in the mall when Babs notices something out of place!

She's a live in I assume so nice digs but she must have sacrificed her own life to a great extent. Is she on at least the 300 grand that De Nero's assistant was getting I wonder.

I guess she's reappearing so people under 80 will actually know who she is. But, only gays will wade through her ego-stroking bible.

by Anonymousreply 20November 16, 2023 1:39 PM

R19, perhaps Renata is like one of those old time live-in maid right off the boat from Ireland or Germany who sacrifices her life for her employer. I don’t think Barbra got the memo that this isn’t done anymore.
