Anyone else like Elizabeth Taylor in BUtterfield 8?

Obviously a trashy movie that she only won for out of sympathy, but I still like her performance in it. Glad she redeemed herself with winning a second Oscar for a superior though.

I thought she was very good in the scene where her character confesses to having been abused as a child

She was marginally better than Grace Kelly in "The Country Girl", I'll give her that!

When Liz’s name is called, Tuesday Weld looks very happy for her!

Why is the U capitalized? At first I thought that was just a typo, but everyone spells it that way.

R8 That is how all the first two numbers of phone numbers used to be referred to…aka “the exchange.” They were both caps because they were caps on the telephone (and still are). 2=A,B,C etc. So, Gloria’s telephone number was 288.

I like Butterfield 8 and I love The Sandpiper. You can sense the sexual tension between Taylor and Burton in that movie.

I find the scenery-chewing grating. But I guess that’s how actors were taught to “act” back then.

I thought Lindsay Lohan was decent playing her.

She comes closest to her in this film.
