Larry Myers Jr. -- who appeared on Season 10 of "My 600-Lb. Life" -- has died in Texas.
Family spokesperson Sonya Hines-Hall tells TMZ ... Larry -- nicknamed "Mr. Buttermilk Biscuits" on the TLC show -- died from a heart attack at his Houston home last week while mourning the death of a friend.
Larry's relatives announced his passing on social media ... and set up a GoFundMe page to pay for his funeral costs. They also remembered Larry as a talented gospel singer who didn't let his struggle with weight dim "his drive to show love and kindness to all he met."
When Larry appeared on the TLC show in an episode that aired in January 2022, he was bedbound and tipped the scale at a whopping 940 pounds.
Larry underwent weight-loss surgery back in the day, but he gained 400 pounds after the procedure ... leading to his appearance on 'My 600-lb Life."
He was 48.
RIP - Or Rest In Buttermilk. Your choice, Larry - you deserve it.

Why do they always have a GoFundMe? How much of the coin actually makes it to the funeral, and how much is just part of the family's grift?
Funerals ain't that fucking expensive...unless you're going for some gaudy nonsense like Michael Jackson.

A GoFundMe? Can we send food?

I've never watched this show, but I'm sorry he's died, especially while morning a friend. R.I.P

R1 and R2 I asked myself the same question. Does no one buy life insurance any more which covers funeral and burial (or a majority of it) ? Does no family have a savings in which they can cover the costs ? No relatives or friends to borrow from, or maybe they can pay for the funeral ?
What did all these people do BEFORE there was something called "GoFundMe" to take in a collection from strangers ?
I don't get it.

Looks like as of now, a little over $1,000 was raised towards their $35,000 goal.
I've been involved in planning for many funerals - and not cheap ones, either - and none have come over $17 - 18,000. NONE.

GoFundMe is a grifting system, plain and simple.
Whoever this "god-sister" is, she's clearly scamming.
Buy some fucking life insurance, people! It's not that expensive, even if you're a fat twat. Or better yet, pre-pay for a funeral. You can get a considerable discount and control the expenses if you set it up in advance.

He had hot biscuits, but he couldn't live forever.

What did he do with the money he earned for being on the reality TV show ? That money should've gone to life insurance or a pre-paid funeral. I'm sure he was aware of the reality that he was not going to live a long life at nearly 1,000 pounds.

Did somebody say buttermilk?
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 21, 2023 9:51 PM |
It might be a more expensive funeral because of the sheer size of the coffin.
| by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 22, 2023 4:34 AM |
True, R11. Also, the hole they'll have to dig will be a double-wide.
I don't have life insurance. I'm 67 and have a good-sized IRA that will cover my funeral costs.
| by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 22, 2023 4:43 AM |
R12 Make sure your next-of-kin has all the paperwork. It can take more than a month for IRA funds to process after a death, and a funeral home might not be willing to wait that long.

He had several asses but couldn't live forever.

I was able to cremate my dad for like $1,100. We also didn't bother with the service cuz my dad didn't like anybody and I didn't feel like telling the rest of the family that he died.
| by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 22, 2023 6:13 AM |
Obviously the family had quite a bit of savings it was just unfortunate but they kept it all in a sugar can in the kitchen.

R6 what do you care who pays for this guy's funeral or if they beg for money on the internet it's not like you're obligated to give them anything. And most insurance if not all insurance companies are scummy grifting slime bags themselves.

Did anyone try his biscuit recipe?
He looked like a very sweet man.

R11 The best option for someone that size is to cremate them. Less expensive, and more practical for a corpse that large.
Currently, his GFM campaign his 'Godsister" is running is only one-tenth at her $35,000 goal. Looks like she's not taking that trip to Disneyworld any time soon.

R11 I know you were being serious, but your post made me laugh so hard I actually spit out my coffee.
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 22, 2023 4:10 PM |
R15, cremation for a person his size is not that easy and could result in a literal grease fire. You will need a larger crematory and more specialized equipment.

R21 They could always dump him in the ocean...let the sharks have a buffer.
| by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 22, 2023 4:46 PM |
They can only cremate him via a one-way trip to Venus.
| by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 22, 2023 5:25 PM |
Here's an idea to help with cremating the jumbos:
You know how, in the old days, they used whale oil for lanterns, flooring, and engine lubricant? It was an animal-based alternative to petroleum products.

80 people have donated to his Godsister's Disney vacation, and it hasn't even hit $4,000 yet...so the average donation is less then $50. Will that cover her airfare ?
| by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 22, 2023 11:36 PM |
It's a new day and Godsister's Disney Vacation GoFundMe has hit $4,000 with 111 donations. Donations are holding steady with an average of $36.
But wait !
One donor did donate $1,000. If you take that donor out of the equation, then it's $3,000 with 110 donations. The average donation is really $27.
That's more like it.

R5 Even a few K $ are a lot of money for many people, Mr. Romney.
| by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 23, 2023 7:01 PM |
Damn! It's been over a week and only $4,112 was raised (don't forget that one donor who threw in $1,000). There's still $31,000 to go so the Godsister can go to Disneyland.
Not happening.

R32 I hope GoFundMe checks into this 'fundraiser'.
It's been nearly 2 weeks, and Godsister has only raised $4,000 of her $35,000 goal. Can it be the funeral hasn't taken place yet and he's not buried yet ? This smells of a scam 100 miles away. His buttermilk corpse must be decomposing by now if they haven't done a thing with it as they wait for $35K!
| by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 27, 2023 10:44 PM |
Damn! Either Godsister cancelled her jackpot vacation and 'got real', or GFM did it for her.
The REVISED GFM goal is now $7300 - quite a reduction from the $35K she originally asked.
The contributions are now at $4500, so he will get his burial but she's not taking a Disney vacation.
