1979 Battle of the Network Stars

Wow @ the star power willing to play tug of war in speedos in the name of their broadcast network.

Valerie Bertenelli, Gregory Harrison, Robert Conrad, Billy Crystal, and shirtless Ed Asner.

They don't make TV like this anymore.

Back in the 1970s, if you wanted to be a network TV star, you were pretty much required to participate in "Battle of the Network Stars," make an appearance on the "$25,000 Pyramid," and participate in those ridiculous network promos for the new fall season. It all came with the territory. Can you imagine today's celebrities putting up with that shit?

Hahahahaha

Evigan should have been in the water.

He cheated by digging his feet into the side of the pool.

Conrad was pathetically competitive as always.

Anyone remember him raising a stink and insisting on a run-off with ABC’s captain, Gabe Kaplan?

Kaplan left him in the dust.

We lived for those shows. It was great to be a kid in the 70s.

Neither Mary Tyler Moore nor Bob Newhart participated in the shows, so they were illegitimate.

This was the real golden age of tv. The cheese , the jiggle, the innuendos... I wish I could go back to the late 70/early 80s.
