They don't believe she existed, or that she could have accomplished as much as she did.

She would have liked blue if she could have seen it.

This is a joke among young people. They love to spark outrage in old people (their parents).

A recent college grad I know was also told this in class. The instructor didn't believe that she could have actually learned the language she supposedly did, after only being introduced to it at 6 or 7 years old. The suspicion is that she was Annie Sullivan's sock puppet, so to speak.

If only they watched TCM they would know Helen Keller was the tap dancer in 42nd Street.

Sure, a lot of tweens, teens and twenty year olds deny knowing Heller Keller, the real story is that only a handful of people know Laura Bridgman, who came earlier and was the first death/blind person to gain education in the English language. Charles Dickens even met and wrote about her, but how many people know about her fortitude and advancement? #rememberlaurabridgman !

What did Helen Keller's parents do when they were mad at her?
Leave the plunger in the toilet.

Helen Keller walked into a bar. And a chair. And a table. And a wall.

No, but the newspapers tell me she was brought to a blind recreation club two miles from my house back in 1948 before I was born.
But I have to say, I'm slightly sceptical that someone with those conditions could actually function and learn a language. I haven't watched the movie because I hate melodramatic (and probably fake) tearjerkers and Anna Maria Italiano (ie Anne Bancroft) leaves me cold.

Young people are idiots. No surprise.

It’s hard to fathom anyone accomplishing much for people who spend 12 hours a day on their phones “creating content”.

Just watch the 5 minute version of Miracle Worker, R23. Starring Edith Prickley. No melodrama.
