Young People - especially TikTok'ers

They don't believe she existed, or that she could have accomplished as much as she did.

She would have liked blue if she could have seen it.

This is a joke among young people. They love to spark outrage in old people (their parents).

A recent college grad I know was also told this in class. The instructor didn't believe that she could have actually learned the language she supposedly did, after only being introduced to it at 6 or 7 years old. The suspicion is that she was Annie Sullivan's sock puppet, so to speak.

If only they watched TCM they would know Helen Keller was the tap dancer in 42nd Street.

by Anonymousreply 5January 6, 2021 1:46 AM

I literally weep for our future.

by Anonymousreply 6January 6, 2021 1:59 AM

What, no Helen Keller jokes? I'm so disappointed.

by Anonymousreply 7January 6, 2021 2:09 AM

r3 And which community college was that?

by Anonymousreply 8January 6, 2021 2:17 AM

Patty Duke didn't exist.

Identical cousins? Give me a break.

HK deniers need to be smacked with a shitbra.

She preferred black.

Their parents are stupid and so are they.

[quote]What, no Helen Keller jokes? I'm so disappointed.

Kids today don't even know what a waffle iron is.

by Anonymousreply 13January 6, 2021 4:29 PM

OP, have you ever met Helen Keller? Do you know anyone who has met her?

Makes you think, huh?

by Anonymousreply 14January 6, 2021 5:07 PM

What's Helen Keller's favorite color?

Corduroy

by Anonymousreply 15January 6, 2021 5:21 PM

Sure, a lot of tweens, teens and twenty year olds deny knowing Heller Keller, the real story is that only a handful of people know Laura Bridgman, who came earlier and was the first death/blind person to gain education in the English language. Charles Dickens even met and wrote about her, but how many people know about her fortitude and advancement? #rememberlaurabridgman !

How did Helen Keller burn one side of her face?

She answered the iron.

How did Helen Keller burn the other side of her face?

They called back.

by Anonymousreply 17January 6, 2021 5:52 PM

How did Helen Keller's parents punish her?

They put the toilet seat on the stove.

by Anonymousreply 18January 6, 2021 5:52 PM

^^ that’s a BASTARDIZATION of the original!

What did Helen Keller's parents do when they were mad at her?

Leave the plunger in the toilet.

by Anonymousreply 19January 7, 2021 12:20 AM

Helen Keller walked into a bar. And a chair. And a table. And a wall.

by Anonymousreply 21January 7, 2021 12:29 AM

If Helen Keller fell down in the woods, would she make a sound?

[quote] Do you know anyone who has met her?

No, but the newspapers tell me she was brought to a blind recreation club two miles from my house back in 1948 before I was born.

But I have to say, I'm slightly sceptical that someone with those conditions could actually function and learn a language. I haven't watched the movie because I hate melodramatic (and probably fake) tearjerkers and Anna Maria Italiano (ie Anne Bancroft) leaves me cold.

by Anonymousreply 23February 18, 2021 1:38 AM

Young people are idiots. No surprise.

by Anonymousreply 24February 18, 2021 1:48 AM

It’s hard to fathom anyone accomplishing much for people who spend 12 hours a day on their phones “creating content”.

Just watch the 5 minute version of Miracle Worker, R23. Starring Edith Prickley. No melodrama.

Why was one of Helen Keller's legs yellow?

Her dog was blind too.

by Anonymousreply 27February 18, 2021 2:24 AM

Family Guy. Helen Keller. Enough said.
