It seems that born agains — or at least highly observant Protestants— are overrepresented in men’s artistic gymnastics, compared to swimming or baseball or even basketball. Why is that? Male gymnasts are my physical fantasy, short and built and often smooth. But many of the cute ones reference Jesus or wear crosses or talk about being blessed. A lot appear to have gone to private Christian schools before college, like Sean Melton. Why so many Jesus freaks in this sport?
