Who are more annoying, cyclists or runners?

Runners annoy the shit out of me, especially when they don't want to break their stride and refuse to wait at the crosswalk even when the light is against them.

But cyclists are more likely to be hit, especially at night.

I think it's the dumbest thing in the world. And I notice most people do it at rush hour for maximum exposure ("Look at me!"). May as well go run naked with bison.

Neither holds a candle to those scooters or whatever they are.

Truck / SUV drivers are more annoying.

Cyclists: break every rule of the road everyday, all the time. Spend more time out of their bike lanes than in them.

Cyclist are so annoying I came up with a classification system:

1. The necessitist, rides a bike everywhere because they need to, usually dresses casually and never wears a helmet.

2. The recreationalist, rides a bike for fun and exercise, dresses a bit sportier and wears a helmet.

3. The enthusiast, rides a bike because it's their main hobby, always has some kind of competitive get-up on. Rides like they're competing in the Tour de France.

I have been riding an elliptical bike for years on a recreational bike path near my place. I've lost 75 lbs from it and ride every night. The bike path is about 7 miles long with two lanes for bikes and one for pedestrians and it's always filled with folks walking their dogs, families teaching their children to ride bikes, some roller bladers, etc. I HATE the male cyclists who are #3's from r6 post. I can't ride very fast as it's an elliptical and I cannot tell you how many men dressed up like they are on the tour de france come up behind me screaming at me "ON YOUR LEFT!" One dude even kept yelling, "Hello? Hello?" as he came up on me as if I'm going to suddenly turn around and acknowledge him while I'm trying not to hit anyone. I see them constantly running the red lights at the intersections and they go so fast. I've had kids fall on their bikes in front of me or even just dart out at me and dogs too. I know that those asshole bikers have had to hit some of them. It's not a fucking race and it's for RECREATIONAL biking. And you look stupid in your biking gear while riding the path.

I am number 2 on your list, r6. Fun and exercise and because I work from home, I enjoy my nightly excursions.

I don't mind the joggers as much except for the large groups of them that take over the path and act like they don't see me coming when they are in my lane. I've had so many people walking/jogging in the bike lane lately, that I no longer move over. I counted 11 people in one night who I almost hit because they weren't paying attention. My favorite are the people riding their bikes while looking at their phones or the people riding who are smoking cigarettes. Idiots.

My city has installed bicycle lanes on streets all over town, yet I never see bicyclists in any them. But turn onto a two-lane road with no shoulder in heavy traffic and there's always some Lance Armstrong wannabe in his Lycra bike shorts and jersey taking up the entire lane and backing up traffic for blocks.

Bicyclists (Let's be specific; I've only had a problem with a unicyclist twice and a tricycle once) are worse.

They ignore the laws of the road to their own endangerment, refuse to use the lanes available to them, and do great damage when run over with their conveyances.

At least the vehicle damage from runners usually can be repaired.

Damn y'all are cold hearted to cyclists.

I'm a 2 on R6 list. I love to go on a two hour ride in the evenings, just me and my audiobooks or podcast.

I hate cyclists. In my flyover state, it’s like a religion from hell. Everyone gets sucked in, even when you don’t want to see them on a bike.

Entitled people walking their dogs are the most annoying. The expect you to move for the fucking dog or having the dog gives them the authority to walk wherever the fuck they want, no keeping to the right, walking wherever the fuck their dog pulls them. I noticed this is an issue in my wealthy, progressive neighborhood. When I walk to work through a more working class, ethnic neighborhood, people are much more respectful and keep the dog close, pull it out of the way, and move to the left.

Runners are next only because I encounter them more than cyclists. The cyclists in Montreal are the most arrogant, nasty cyclists on the planet.

Idk, anything that gets cars off the street is great imo. Roads are designed for cars, not cyclists (altho that’s changing which is great) so obviously cyclists won’t use the streets as you personally might want them to, because the streets are not designed to be ergonomically in tune with cyclists needs. Better for the environment, less air pollution, less noise pollution what’s not to like.

Last night, I was turning right on a green light and almost hit a bicyclist who ran the red at the crossing. He glared at me like I was the one at fault.

That would be hilarious if I saw someone smoking while riding a bicycle. I don't think I'd hate it.

I was Type # 1 on the list at R6.

I had no car (San Francisco) and rode my bicycle for transportation. Frankly, I understand why bicyclists don't like the bike lanes (if there even are any). They feel dangerous. Your back is to traffic (whereas, when you walk, you usually face traffic for safety). Car drivers (I am a car driver, now) simply are not looking out for you. You have to assume the worst, at all times. (Assume that people don't see you, will not yield, will hit you, etc.) People in parked cars swing open their doors right in your path.

I have seen cyclists in cities walk their bike on the sidewalk then start riding once they got to the park. I would probably do the same. Seems safer.

I was cycling and lost my balance and fell off my bike once. A runner ran by without looking down. A cyclist behind me asked if I was okay and held my bike for me while I took a drink of water and took a break.
