"Where The Day Takes You" could have been a chaotic mess with the huge cast, but it does have some surprisingly accurate druggy, street-life scenes and performances.
The cast includes Dermot Mulroney, Lara Flynn Boyle, Will Smith, Sean Astin, Ricki Lake, Balthazar Getty, Alyssa Milano, David Arquette, Christian Slater, Laura San Giacomo, Kyle McLachlan, Nancy McKeon.
Did you see this movie?

Harmony Korine copied the same idea but set in New York with KIDS.

Produced by legend Philip McKeon, Nancy's brother and Alice's son Tommy.

Lena Dunham is almost Ricki Lakeesque.
Winona and LFB could have played sisters.

It's interesting to see Hollywood Blvd. before Hollywood and Highland changed the landscape.

Does Nancy McKeon play a dykey horsefaced teenager who pretends she's a heterosexual?

James Le Gros was good in this. He didn't get a lot of interesting parts.

This one is so obscure, even I’ve never heard of it.

I remember this back in the day.
IIRC the actors all shared the same acting coach at one time or another?? Or talent manager?? Which is how the whole thing came together.

I remember seeing it on HBO around 1990. I don't remember much about it other than Ricki Lake was even fatter than she was in Hairspray

Only think I remember from that film is that Sean Astin was pretty damn good in it. He seems to have inherited a bit of his mom's talent.
