DL fave, screen siren Susan Richardson at the 2:00 mark.

by Anonymousreply 4July 19, 2023 2:37 AM

It's a different OP R3 you sanctimonious cunt.

by Anonymousreply 5July 19, 2023 3:18 AM

Who knew that Nancy Kulp and Melissa Sue Anderson were a couple?

by Anonymousreply 6July 19, 2023 3:37 AM

That isn’t Don Johnson, but I agree the man looks a lot like him.

by Anonymousreply 7July 19, 2023 3:50 AM

2:29 ---- Joanne Worley couldn't manage to put on skates but that didn't stop her from acting like a fool.

by Anonymousreply 8July 19, 2023 3:55 AM

Aw I remember going to the skating rink in 92' as a kid. This was only 12 years before that.

It was so much fun. People don't roller skate anymore do they?

Um, R9..... That skating rink (Flipper's) closed in October 1981. In 1992, it was an Esprit store. (now it's a CVS)

by Anonymousreply 10July 19, 2023 5:17 AM

The guy in the red shirt (at 0:55) is Ian "Flipper" Ross, the owner of Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace.

by Anonymousreply 11July 19, 2023 5:48 AM

Is anyone featured still alive?

Edit: Being a typical DL-er, I know Joanne is!

by Anonymousreply 13July 19, 2023 6:44 AM

Dana Plato looks fucked-up, as usual.

by Anonymousreply 14July 19, 2023 6:46 AM

Still Alive: Jo Anne Worley, Ruth Buzzi, Antonio Fargas, Michael Cole, Jo Ann Pflug, Gwynne Gilford (Robert Pine's wife), Peter Lupus, Jackie Joseph, Susan Richardson, Connie Needham (seen by not mentioned by announcer), Melissa Sue Anderson, Todd Bridges. (and all the guys from CHiPs)

by Anonymousreply 15July 19, 2023 7:53 AM

Announcer: “Hey, Cindy!”

Cindy Williams: “Yeah? Whadaya want?”

by Anonymousreply 16July 19, 2023 8:12 AM

My apologies, R9... I misread what you wrote. You were speaking generally of going to a skating rink in 1992, not *that* skating rink (Flipper's) specifically. My bad.

by Anonymousreply 17July 19, 2023 8:13 AM

Yeah r17 just generally speaking. The 70s one looks much nicer.

I just looked it up and it's still there!

Who is the guy in glasses next to Shirley Feeney?

by Anonymousreply 19July 21, 2023 10:02 AM

was this clip featured in the tv show?

were the stars attending an actual fundraiser? and allowed to be filmed

thanks in advance if anyone knows how a footage like this came together

by Anonymousreply 20July 21, 2023 10:55 AM

Yes, the clip was part of an actual episode of CHiPs. Larry Wilcox, Robert Pine & Brodie Greer were appearing as their CHiPs characters.

"Actors & Others for Animals" is a REAL non-profit organization which still exists, today. Earl Holliman was the president of it back then; Jo Anne Worley is the president of it now. Beyond that, I have no idea how the two became intertwined on an episode of CHiPs. My guess is that it really was a fundraiser for AOFA, and somebody on CHiPs -- an executive producer, or someone at NBC -- was involved with AOFA.

Several years ago, I went to a performance of "Celebrity Autobiography" in North Hollywood to benefit Actors & Others for Animals. Jo Anne Worley was the hostess of a pre-show auction. The cast included: Lily Tomlin, Florence Henderson, Lanie Kazan, Fred Willard, Mindy Cohn, Larraine Newman, Bruce Villanch, and Joey Fatone. It was fucking AWESOME! My face hurt the next day from smiling/laughing so hard.

are the last two announced ...."and Vivian Blaine and Dody Goodman" ?

by Anonymousreply 23July 22, 2023 9:02 PM

R16: I'm a little disappointed that you didn't sign your post as "The Grim Reaper". What a missed, pointless-bitchery opportunity! 😈

by Anonymousreply 24July 23, 2023 1:05 AM

Does anyone know who the pretty, energetic woman in the red & black striped top is at 1:13 ?? I can't tell whether the announcer is saying Barbara Lewis, or perhaps Barbara Lou is..? The Barbara Lewis who came up in my google search definitely isn't that woman, nor is Barbara Lou.

by Anonymousreply 25July 23, 2023 1:16 AM

OHHH!! Thank you, R26! I couldn't quite make out exactly what the announcer was saying (beyond Barbara)

Anyway....we can add her to the list of "Still Alive" @ R15!

by Anonymousreply 27July 23, 2023 1:30 AM

I only knew BarBara Luna from One Life To Live. I had no idea she’d need around for so long and had such a prolific career.

by Anonymousreply 28July 23, 2023 1:43 AM

Can one apply for a government grant to have a notated roster of all the names announced?

I can think of no greater service to mankind...

by Anonymousreply 33July 23, 2023 4:59 AM

How fucking lazy are you, R34? The thread isn't very long.

by Anonymousreply 35July 23, 2023 8:59 AM

R33: Yes, that's Tina Louise

by Anonymousreply 36July 23, 2023 9:13 AM

by Anonymousreply 40July 23, 2023 12:12 PM

John Alvin Ray (January 10, 1927 – February 24, 1990) died at age 63

He had just turned 50 in this clip I think.

Always fun to see Joyce DeWitt. Years ago my (now late) husband and I were looking at clips from the Battle of the Network Stars and Howard Cosell referred to Joyce as "A Diminutive Package - Just Bursting With Sexuality". From that moment on any smaller man we thought was hot was referred to as being "DeWitty".
