Another ghoulish, NYC-adjacent crime for DL to solve. Something skeevy and weird about this whole family, with multiple members reported missing and then found over the last couple of years. Whodunnit?

"Another ghoulish, NYC-adjacent crime"
What does the locale have to do with anything? People get murdered, even ghoulishly so, everywhere in this country, and all over the world.

Who was the man she met up with? That might be a motive.
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 18, 2022 2:30 PM |
The 13-year-old son, the only one home at the time, was apparently taken away for questioning in handcuffs. He's subsequently been released, but the whole thing is bizarre. Including the extremely convenient timing of the dad and other kid being across the country. Which implies either that it's the dad or that it was an opportunity for the kid. But this family seems to have a thing with family members being reported missing and then "found" (except, until now, alive). Maybe the kid has issues and was triggered by the mom being out. He will NOT be ignored. Creepy all around.

I think the article said she had a business degree, not a lawyer or anything.
Maybe she was involved in reporting a crime to the police years ago that resulted in someone doing time. And they just… waited. If so, very awful.
Even if this was a murder-for-hire or similar, wouldn’t that fake clue text send authorities on a wild goose chase that would prove it was a ruse, and confirm other suspicions? Seems unwise to throw a fake wrench in your crime that would inevitably backfire.

[quote] For the year through April 10, major crimes are up 44 percent from the same period in 2021
No shit Sherlock, there was a shutdown for 2 years. And notice there percentages given , but no number of crimes? If there were 4 major crimes last year and 6 major crimes this year, it’s an increase of 50%, easily explained by relaxing the shutdown. How many major crimes were there in 2019, before shutdown? They don’t give numbers for perspective.
This obsession with crime in NYC is
1) NYPD being crybabies because there’s a democrat in mayoral office. They’re trying to convince NYers there’s a horrible, unstoppable crime wave happening.
2) Attempt to kill bail reform in the cradle because it will affect the prison industrial complex
3) smearing cities as crime-ridden hellholes so GOP can nullify electoral votes from blue states as being “corrupt” and “not real the America.”
Nobody gave a shit about crime in NYC in the 1980s. It was horrendous (crack epidemic led to constant muggings) and considered a fact of life. Now, NY Post and other rightwing media cherry pick crime and try to make it sound like there are 10,000 crimes a day.
Aside from the fact this is probably a domestic situation, having nothing to do with random crime.
The fact the body was dragged out of the house leaving an easily followed trail of blood is strange. Either the kid did it and wanted her body out of the house …having his dead mother’s body lying around was freaking him out …..or it was a hired killing and the husband told the killer “Get her body out of the house. I don’t want my kid to find it.”
| by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 19, 2022 5:09 AM |
If the father hired someone, it sure was sloppy....leaving a trail of blood. A professional wouldn't do that.

Hitmen don't stab 50+ times or drag the body down a city sidewalk afterwards. It's someone who knew her and felt angry and hateful towards her.
Supposedly she secretly went out with another man that night, so that's the most obvious suspect. I wouldn't rule out the kid though. The person on the video does seem like it could be a teenager. The prison text has to be an attempt to throw suspicion in another direction. I don't know how the tech works exactly but it seems like tracing her phone would be a great idea...

Another weird tidbit:
"Last week, in a now-deleted Tweet, Gaal’s husband Howard Klein wrote that he had flown to Portland, Oregon, to scout colleges with their 17-year-old son. He told the paper Saturday he was heading back to New York and that he was taking the threats seriously." Why delete such a seemingly innocuous tweet?
Trying to figure out a scenario whereby he learns (or "learns") that his wife has been murdered and thinks "oh, better delete that tweet."

| by Anonymous | reply 87 | April 19, 2022 4:04 PM |
I’d thought it must be the son, initially. Now I’ve changed my mind. I think it’s someone the wife knew, and that’s them in the video.
I think the police could have quickly studied the video and the 13 year old son’s build and gait and ruled him out.
The family appears on the surface to have a lot of dysfunction, going back years. Could be a lot of things going on here.

| by Anonymous | reply 90 | April 19, 2022 5:38 PM |
If investigators do spend time and energy going through this woman’s history to see if she was on any juries or reported any crimes or such and there’s nothing, then technically it is a red herring. Just not a clever one.
| by Anonymous | reply 91 | April 19, 2022 5:54 PM |
I agree that the killer's text sounds amateurish at best. Outside of a "Murder, She Wrote" episode, what kind of killer would clumsily implicate him/herself in such an awkward way? It sounds like a plot concocted on the spot by someone who isn't terribly bright. Unless that's the cheesy red herring, along "Basic Instinct" lines -- making it look obvious to the point that it looks like a ploy. Most killers aren't as brilliant and devious as those we've come to know and love in fiction. I suspect that this mystery will be resolved shortly.

It seems obvious that MANY people wanted this woman dead, at least 4 different strange men, her husband, AND her 13-year-old son. I'm sensing that they ALL must have killed her at the same time, and that explains why there was such an overabundance of stab wounds. It was overkill, if you will.

I actually think we are focused on the wrong person. What if it’s the husband?
He’s totally aware his wife is a whore, so he has a side piece. Because he’s an investment banker, we know he’s completely narcissistic and borderline aspie, so he doesn’t have a good picker with women.
So he has a totally insanely jealous side piece who kills the wife. Killer sent *him* a text, that’s why I think this case is actually about him and has nothing to do with the wife’s lifestyle. Why else would the killer text him if the motivation isn’t to upset him? Another possibility is husband and side piece planned the killing (he’s conveniently out of town and even solidifies his alibi by deleting a tweet), and the text sent to him to designed to lead police away from looking at him?
If I am wrong, I will buy you all coffee.

As it reflects on the various theories… I’m still unsure about the 13 year old son still being in the house, and the mother knowing this.
Would she plan on bringing a secret date or trick back to the house with the son there? Seems possible but not likely.
Could she have planned to meet someone at the bar who stood her up, then she met him later or ran into him (like in the bar parking lot). Then had him walk (drive) her to her door with no intention of having him in? Where he pushed her in and attacked her? Not knowing there was a teenage son inside because she saw no need to tell the assailant? Seems plausible.
Would she have had a date or hook-up meet and greet at a local bar with no intention of returning to her own home with him? And the “date” stood her up intentionally with plans to ambush her at her home? Waiting there. Possibly doing enough research to learn the father and son were away but was unaware of the younger son? Seems plausible.
Would a hit job killer invade the home to kill the mother knowing the son was in the house? Having not planned to kill the son? Very chaotic. Doesn’t seem likely.
Random psychopath attack who ambushed her in her drive and pushed her inside? Dragging her body through the neighborhood later in a duffel bag for all to see? Unlikely, but possible.
Many options. Possible combos of each. No easy answers.

R122, I agree, it feels like a hit in some ways (though not all). But if it was a hired killer, it feels like that would be the husband and not a lover. Not totally sure why I feel this way, it’s just my gut.

I don't know if a 13 year old would be strong enough to stab her 60 times, drag her body into the basement, put it in a hockey bag, and then lug it all the way upstairs again.

There is absolutely no way in fucking hell it was the kid. They already interrogated him too. Kids just aren’t that smart, and neither are most adults. Committing this crime, which was indeed extremely elaborate, could only occur with an adult(s).
Most guys know that hockey bags can haul a ton of weight. Do we know if that bag came from inside the house 100%?

R2 as someone born and raised in Portland, OR, I was wondering why about that myself. I love it here, but it’s not exactly a great destination if you’re looking for top-notch colleges. I’m guessing the son was visiting either Lewis and Clark or the Reed—possibly University of Portland, which is a respectable Catholic school. Reed is a psychotic shithole, an overpriced version of the equally insane Evergreen State College. Kind of strange to seek out Portland of all places when you have access to so many superior universities in the NYC area alone, but as you said, maybe he just wants to get away from the family.

Why all the lugging around of the body? So odd and unnecessary. Killed her on the first floor, dragged her to the basement, dragged her back up again in the hockey bag, out the door, and then wheeled her several blocks. Sounds exhausting. Why not just go to the basement to get the bag and bring it up? And why didn't the kid hear all the commotion? It was a long drawn out horror scene in that house.

The woman wasn't dismembered, the UK Mail always has problems with verifying their info.
The killer sure wasn't a professional. I guess the killer also couldn't drive? Do you realize how far Forest Park is from this woman's home?! Dragging a bag with a dead body in it?! Leaving a bloody trail. Didn't the moronic killer realize most homes have surveillance cameras? Especially homes in an upper middle class neighborhood where most homes are $1million and up.
Of course, the Daily Fail misspelled Forest Park: "Forrest Park", typical.

The blood trail started at a side door. The neighboring houses of the same design have basement doors at driveway level, whereas the first floor of the house is up a three steps.
Maybe they didn't want to take any chances maneuvering a ~100-lb. bag down the stairs at the front door, in full view of the street. They would have had to carry it down, or thunk-thunk-thunk.

13 years old. Judging from the photo, he wasn't a big kid (the photo may not be recent). The mother appeared on the smaller side, also. I don't know if he could overtake her like that...unless he took her by surprise and was immediately injured in a way that would make it harder for her to fight him. Some 13 year old boys can be as big as adults...even bigger than their parents. The way the body was removed wasn't well thought out and sloppy.

I think an aggressive 13 year old could overpower her if, and only if, he mortally wounded her immediately. Then she would not have been able to fight as hard, which is why I think there are so many stab wounds. She was unable to defend herself fairly quickly IMHO.

NYP:
Cops want to question a former handyman lover of slain Queens mom Orsolya Gaal who had intimate knowledge of her home — including where the family kept a spare key, The Post has learned.
The man, who has not yet been formally identified as a person of interest or suspect in the gruesome slaying, is believed to have had a romantic relationship with the 51-year-old married mother of two before the affair went south, law-enforcement sources said.
It’s unclear when the relationship began and ended, but according to sources familiar with the case, the man knew where the family kept a spare key at their well-kept Forest Hills Tudor and would have been able to access the home without breaking in...
Police believe the killer knew Gaal because there were no signs of a break-in, and considering the violent nature of the crime, they suspect the attack was personal and fueled by anger specifically toward her, sources said.

R175, yes, the whole point of hiring a hitman is that he is a random person not connected to the victim; he can just shoot and walk away. Hanging around, dismembering a body, then dragging it somewhere all radically ups the chance that the killer will be caught on camera (as he apparently was) and/or will leave DNA evidence.

Yeah, R178, he could have been the one who posed as another man to 1) see if she'd take the bait and 2) get her out of the house so he could be there when she returned home.
The explanation @ R158 of the driveway leading right to the basement makes sense. That was likely how she entered the house on returning home. A lot of houses in the NE are like that. The front door is more of a formal entrance. The side is where you go in/out 90% of the time because that's where the cars are. The side entrance, in this case, is also at basement level. He knew she'd go in that way--and he killed her there, stuffed her in the hockey bag and wheeled her right back out onto the driveway and down the street.
It may also explain why the kid didn't hear anything. If he was on the third floor, there were two floors in between them. Plus....headphones..

I've been positing this theory since R42, and the subsequent details suggest I'll be proven right: Slutty swingers got in over their heads.
The cuck authorized his wife to pick up some dick while he was out of town and maybe send him videos or photos.
The wife accidentally picked up the wrong guy or, more desperate for cock than usual, re-connected with a psycho who held a grudge. She got sliced, diced, and bagged. The killer was crazy enough to overkill, drag her outside, and text the red herring about jail.
These "bulls" aren't the most stable types. I suspect Ezra Miller's first arrest in Hawaii—the one where he threatened to kill a man's "slut wife"—was also a threesome situation gone bad.

She had a handyman
The man, who has not yet been formally identified as a person of interest or suspect in the gruesome slaying, is believed to have had a romantic relationship with the 51-year-old married mother of two before the affair went south, law-enforcement sources said.
It’s unclear when the relationship began and ended, but according to sources familiar with the case, the man knew where the family kept a spare key at their well-kept Forest Hills tudor and would have been able to access the home without breaking in.
“[Detectives] don’t think it was a planned murder,” a law-enforcement source said.
“He left a blood trail for five blocks from the house,” the source said.
“It was like a trail of bread crumbs.
If you want to kill somebody, you try to make it a little cleaner, be a little more prepared. He didn’t go with something to move her body. He took something from the house,” the source said.
Cops are also looking to speak with several men Gaal had been texting with before her death, sources said, as detectives plastered posters around the neighborhood offering a $3,500 reward in exchange for tips.
On Friday evening, Gaal headed out with friends to see a show at Lincoln Center before returning to Queens around midnight and hitting a bar in her neighborhood, where she hung out for about 40 minutes alone, apparently waiting for someone, police sources said.

From the beginning, I thought the animal that killed her was someone she was fucking on the side. Years ago (1985), a girl I went to school with was stabbed and killed and her side piece was also stabbed. He survived by pretending to be dead. Her boyfriend followed her to the side pieces apt, then kicked in the door. He killed her first. She called 911, and while she was on the phone he stabbed her to death and it was recorded and played in court. The side peice ran and after the boyfriend killed her he chased him outside and stabbed him too. His testimony in court and that 911, call were just horrifying. I went to court everyday with her Mother, because I'd known her since I was a kid, and we worked at the same place. The Boyfriend, got life in prison, but got out in 2000. I realize the circumstances of this crime are somewhat different, but it reminded me so much, of my friends murder. Her boyfriend was always unstable and we'd tell her, he was insanely jealous. She didn't believe it. Sorry, I'm rambling,. This just reminded me of my friends murder.

Hmm… I suspect her 13-year old, who would be young and foolish enough to panic like that: Dragging her body in a hockey bag across the street, only to abandon it a bit down the road. Also, the figure in the video still looks very young and scrawny to me.
| by Anonymous | reply 195 | April 20, 2022 9:48 AM |
Why does everyone say the figure in the photo looks small? In relation to who/what? The hockey bag? Those things are HUGE. And there isn't anything else around him to reference his size.
Those thinking it's the kid. The police would have gotten a confession immediately. A 13 y/o would be easy to break. Further, he would have been covered in blood and have injuries from the fight. Also, there would have been evidence (blood) elsewhere in the house as he tried to clean up the scene, his clothes, the knife.

I initially though he kid but thinking about everything r196 said makes sense. Also I’m wondering if the camera that caught the person with the bag caught them coming back to the house afterwards. The kid would have probably come back by the same route, and the killer as well for that matter would have possibly returned that way to their car to leave the scene unless they parked in an area where they didn’t walk in front of that camera.

| by Anonymous | reply 199 | April 20, 2022 11:45 AM |
Be real here. If the young son did it the police would know to an absolute certainty the minute they entered the house to tell him his mother was murdered. That's not to say it'd be good enough evidence for a charge, but of course they would know.
And while wheeling the body away does sound like the preferred disposal method of someone not old enough to drive, those same cameras would have caught him returning to the house. Where are the images?

R211 If the text was sent by the killer, he would have had access to her (dead) face or fingertips to sign in. It does all sound a bit odd, with the kid upstairs, but the whole thing is so wacky that anything is possible. The jealous girlfriend, using her handyman boyfriend's phone, texted the victim to meet him at the watering hole. He (obviously) never showed up. For those of you who are incredulous about the 13 year old not hearing anything, it was the middle of the night and he was most likely asleep in his bedroom. The murder occurred in the basement level entryway, probably a few floors below where his bedroom is located. Do you remember how hard you slept as a teenager? Even though I don’t sleep worth a damn now, at 13 the house could have fallen down around me and I would not woken up. It’s not at all implausible he didn’t hear anything.
| by Anonymous | reply 229 | April 20, 2022 2:31 PM |
I don't think the 13 year old did it....for now..lol. I go back and forth on it, but other theories on here make more sense. I like the handyman or the handyman's wife theory.
| by Anonymous | reply 230 | April 20, 2022 2:34 PM |
Teenagers don't sleep anymore. My nephew is online gaming with strangers with headphones on until 3 am in the morning or later. That is what kids do nowadays. He was probably in his room with headphones on - which will probably haunt him the rest of his life. His mother getting brutalized while he was upstairs playing video games.
And with so many things you COULD say, why would you even mention prison? Maybe the "prison" is metaphoric for someone who is absolutely consumed by someone who jilted them.

R232 I think the perpetrator was stiff of shock and fear after he/she committed the murder in a rage (50+ stabbings). Probably sat there for hours, then decided, still in shock, that the best thing to do was to take the body somewhere else.
I know how unlikely that sounds, but this wasn't a professional hitman — this was a rookie raging with anger/passion.

The article I linked somewhere above said she was killed inside the front of the house before being taken to the basement. The basement door is on the side, and that’s where the blood trail originates.
The house at R152 is the same as hers; the doors are in the same places.

The house I grew up was an older home, with the side door. You go in, it's the landing which connects two stairways. One stairway led up to the kitchen, the other stairs led down to the basement.

Oh thank god we can discuss this here without the hysterical fraus claiming OG is being “victim shamed”.
So the fuck WHAT if she was getting some dick on the side? I bet the husband was screwing around, too. We’re all adults who live in the real world. She wasn’t a virgin, FFS.
Anyway. I bet she was mostly friends with other Eastern Europeans. I see this in NYC. These women socialize with other American moms when they have to, but they feel most comfortable with women from their region. And that makes sense. If I moved to Paris, I’d feel a lot more natural around other Americans or Canadians.
She probably still felt like an outsider, even though she did a pretty good job of assimilating. As soon as I saw her photo, I knew she was Eastern European. Poor thing.

Because this is how I imagine son talking to father.
“Dad, I’m at the police station. They handcuffed me…
“DONT SAY ANOTHER WORD TO THEM. DO NOT SPEAK TO THEM. NOTHING. IM SENDING SOMEONE TO GET YOU, HE’S A LAWYER.”
Or “I’m calling Aunt Mary/ Uncle Joe” because a family like this usually has lawyer relatives.

I bit the bullet and listened to the first twenty minutes of Nancy Grace's podcast while I was stuck in traffic. She had the NY Post's police bureau chief on, who said the NYPD is being very tight-lipped about whether they've located the murder weapon and that they haven't seen the text messages. They're waiting for a subpoena for the actual phone; not just the phone records.
NG said that would indicate that the husband hasn't handed the phone over voluntarily. Her other guest (a defense attorney, I believe) agreed but also said they would most likely get a search warrant even if he had consented just to cover their asses in anticipation of the phone playing a part in future legal action.

I think I figured it out- HUSBAND was having an affair and it was the other woman. 13 year old would not bother stabbing mother in the basement- plus I think she could over power her son. I think it would be rare for a young teenager like that to kill a parent while they were awake and fighting back AND move the body. I would have to think that unless there was a significant history of mental disorders- any normal kid even if he had snapped would be sitting in the corner freaking out, not putting their mom's body into their own duffle bag and wheeling it 4 blocks away.

The only motive I can see to remove the body from the house is to try to absolve any one in the house of the crime. The only one there was the kid.
If the ex bf did it would he not have a car? Why would he remove the body and drag it around?

I think the kid did it, and they’re putting a case together to make sure it sticks. One staff could’ve taken her out of commission for those of you mentioning fighting back. Can you imagine your child stabbing you? She must’ve been in shock. Maybe she was drunk? And what about when the kid woke up in the morning and no but he was there he’s only 13… was he worried or contact his other parent? The fact police found him upstairs in his bedroom is weird, like he lives in his own world. Wouldn’t the father be checking on the kid and mother while he’s out of town by phone at least? And if it was not the kid. The killer stayed in the house for hours maybe not knowing there’s a kid upstairs? He was in no rush

Whoever killed her: knew the dad and older son were out of state and not returning that night AND that the young son was upstairs (and managed to keep a fit of rage murder so quiet that the son never comes downstairs) AND took their sweet time with the body afterwards AND apparently has the physique of a teen boy. HOW IS IT NOT THE SON?!
| by Anonymous | reply 353 | April 21, 2022 2:29 AM |
I think it was the son, too, and the police are putting together the case because the kid probably lawyered up immediately. Anyone else just doesn’t make sense. And a hit man is the least likely. Unless it’s the stupidest, most desperate hit man on the planet who also had all the time in the world to hang out at the house.

| by Anonymous | reply 360 | April 21, 2022 2:53 AM |
R357, that’s what I’m saying! She might have had some American friends, but I think she was only truly close to people who are also strangers in a strange land. The cultures are really different. I have some friends from other countries and they are baffled by Americans. I live in New York and probably at least a quarter of the people I know are from another country; from the building porter to the professor next door. It’s quite an interesting thing, actually. Immigrants/expats really tend to gravitate toward each other and bond.
If she were having an affair, it would make sense if it were another immigrant, not some stupid American.

Thanks for the higher quality video. Looks like a teenager and not a woman to me. Loping along at a peppy clip. I would be way too exhausted after all that. Why would anyone go to the trouble of removing the body from the home? From the family photos, the older one would’ve been my guess. The younger one has such a sweet look on his face. You never know
| by Anonymous | reply 364 | April 21, 2022 3:02 AM |
The gait is slightly “hoppy” which indicates a woman or young person but it doesn’t look to me as though the murderer is struggling with the bag. Whoever it is has a lean body/long legs.
| by Anonymous | reply 365 | April 21, 2022 3:04 AM |
If it was the son, for everyone asking how he could have over powered her, all it takes is one stab to the stomach to bring her into submission. With all that adrenaline from the attack, she could have had enough gas left to try to fight him off. Also they are saying she was killed around 12.40am, and the footage of the killer was at around 4am. Enough time to process what happened, and make a half assed plan.

| by Anonymous | reply 368 | April 21, 2022 3:07 AM |
Again: Why would someone who doesn't live in the house, remove the body from the house and potentially get caught? Evidence of the killing is still at the house. No one living outside of the home would have any reason to go through the insanity of actually removing the body from the home when you didn't live in that home.
| by Anonymous | reply 369 | April 21, 2022 3:07 AM |
I think the son obviously knew why she went out and it infuriated him, and when she came home, they fought and he had had enough of his cheating mom. Adultery affects kids, too. It undoubtedly did a number on him mentally to watch his mom cheat on his dad, esp. to leave him alone to go cheat on his dad. And at that age, the hormones are raging.
| by Anonymous | reply 370 | April 21, 2022 3:11 AM |
Removing the body from the house makes sense if the murderer was returning to the house, hence the son did it. He needed to distance himself from the body, also the horror of being in the home with his dead mother. Anyone one else would have fled and left the body where she was murdered.

Good spotting, R372.
It looks like he has a skateboard tucked in the crook of his left arm. He probably needed to use both hands to keep that heavy bag lifted up to haul away. Maybe he thought the skateboard would make it easier to transport the body? Wrong, junior.
It's the 13 year old for sure, imo. The height of the murderer compared to the bushes and parked car, as well as his slender build screams juvenile, not adult.

I don't think k this was her Son. I think she had probably been meeting men other than her Husband for a while. Her prior Facebook photos show that she had changed her appearance somewhat, over the last 5 or so years, and the pictures she'd posted since then, look like dating app pbotos. She went to a local bar alone after an evening out with friends. She came home alone. Then someone shows up. If you look at what information has been released, its clear that they have a few suspects, because of her online and other activities. She went missing a few years back, and the Husband was panicked enough to call the cops. She had company, and it cost her, her life.

Then that the assailant came to the home that night.
Is this signalling these are two separate individuals I wonder?
| by Anonymous | reply 404 | April 21, 2022 12:02 PM |
This case is so odd. There are a lot of potential suspects. The husband authorizing a hit (unlikely imo), the three or four men she was in contact with, any of the significant others of those men, a woman involved with her own husband theoretically, apparently the older son's girlfriend (not sure what the story is here, but several people have mentioned her on other sites), a random mentally deranged person. But I keep coming back to the 13-year-old. That seems like the best fit for the bizarre details of this crime.
| by Anonymous | reply 405 | April 21, 2022 12:04 PM |
1) The woman was killed inside her home.
2) The only other person police know for sure was also in the home at that time is the youngest son..
3) Therefore there's no fucking way police have dismissed him as a suspect. They just didn't have enough evidence to book him. Yet.

It's possible, R408 — and I bet police have obtained all the footage from each and every doorbell and security cam in the vicinity, just to analyse who came and went.
Interestingly, she was murdered on the first floor (ground floor), but apparently dragged down into the basement. Not sure if she was already dead by then.
OG entered the house through the side door, as she always did, went upstairs, and… was immediately or very shortly after attacked.
Ground floor… kitchen and knives nearby… A heated discussion with her son? Reprimanding him for still being up and playing video games? Or him telling her to stop seeing other men? The argument escalates, and in red fury the son stabs her mother 58 times?
Then he panics, brings her down to the basement. What to do? Sitting there for hours next to the corpse of his slain mother. In shock and confusion, he stuffs her in his hockey bag, and off he goes.
Could be… Could be…

Maybe it was to be another Murdaugh murders and something went wrong where the youngest son wasn’t killed too? Most likely being that the killer was on foot and could drag off both bodies, or had a change of consciousness about killing a child? Is there the possibility that the killer was injured him or her self in the murder and that why they may have been walking in a particular way? Have they said there were two blood types at the crime scene? Might the killer needed all that time to “recover” enough from their injuries and that’s why they left hours later? Might some of the blood trail been their own?

I admit I thought it was the kid. In the video his appearance didn't scream adult male handyman. Some Hispanic men are pretty small but there was something youthful about the figure too. If you look at her facebook profile, he used to like her photos a lot and leave comments in Spanish about how beautiful she is etc. I'm surprised they left these comments up if they actually began an affair, unless the husband was okay with it. Before r429's post I figured it was just that he probably had some obsession with her, and she rejected him and he lost it that night. Sad nevertheless.

[quote] If LE knew he did it, why would they release such a potentially violent criminal who could easily go on another rampage?
1) Because it’s early on in the investigation and the cops don’t have enough evidence to arrest him
2) The father immediately told the kid to keep his mouth shut until a lawyer got there.
3) The lawyer walked in and said, “Officers, is my client under arrest? Didn’t think so. Please release him to my custody until his father arrives home.”
4) Police have no right to keep him. Even if the kid flat out confessed police would let him go because he’s 13 & didn’t have a lawyer there when he confessed, so fear and coercion of a minor would’ve been used as defense. “Your honor my client is a child and had PTSD when told his mother was dead. He was confused, grief-stricken and had no family at the scene to comfort him. His state of mind was altered by events.”
Cops say “Better to gather video and DNA evidence. Better to look at this kid’s internet and phone history. Build a solid case.”

| by Anonymous | reply 451 | April 21, 2022 1:55 PM |
Maybe, even with the affair...the handyman wasn't living up to his contractural obligations on work done on their house....and they threatened to take legal action.

R451 R452 You'd think that there would be some reports about prior arrests (and certainly convictions/incarcerations) in all the reports. It was such a violent, dramatic crime of passion that I almost wonder whether he wasn't referring to the certain prison term he's going to get now... As in.. "SHE MADE ME DO IT!" And the whole family is doomed because if he can't have her, nobody can. She may have told him that she wouldn't leave her family for him. Or maybe it was just some ridiculous, silly attempt to throw them off his trail.

(1) totally unnecessary even if he was a suspect, (2) MOTHER DEAD in basement- just on the OFF chance he hadn't done it err on the side of no handcuffs, (3) kid was alone, father traveling mother dead and they handcuff him? I would be out of my mind with anger at the police for that as his father- and as his mother I would be haunting the shit out of the police officer who made that call.
Talk about making a trauma worse.

Not that DL should know about the sex lives of straight people, but the cuck/bull/hotwife thing is a big and growing fetish — a lot of couples are into it. Huge category on Pornhub and Onlyfans.
It breaks up the monotony for both, in a way that includes both. It turns some guys on to watch their wives get fucked like a porn star. Plus it gives bi-curious/heteroflexible guys a way to work out same-sex fantasies they may or may not be willing to pursue themselves.

He was brazenly declaring his love for her on her facebook posts with heart emojis and calling her "my love," which surely her ex-pat friends would have seen. Polyamory is still taboo here, which is why those in open relationships are discreet with their side flings, by and large. Bored housewife who’s too lazy to get a job but enjoying the fruits of her husband’s labor in the dog-eat-dog financial sector. The fact that she was out and about at odd hours on a regular basis shows me she was a checked-out mother, especially as her boys were at critical ages. A pretty, well-to-do blonde MILF would be catnip for a wetback who came here on an innertube. Perhaps she wanted to end their situation and his red-hot Latin temper boiled over?
It's just all so sordid, but delicious. Breeders always paint LGBTQ people as sex-crazed perverts, and they are thisclose to God. But sometimes their carefully-constructed facades crumble.
I love these Dateline, 20/20, Forensc Files shows that expose the sick and boring world of heterosexuality.
But I want to hear from the star witness: the boy. Did he really game/sleep/rock out for 4 hrs. while the handyman sliced 'n diced mama downstairs and dragged her corpse out the door and down the street? Did he know they were having an affair? Was he listening... or spying? Was he even there?

Don't these assholes who are having affairs believe in calling or texting each other, preferably on burner phones??
Isn't it odd that he handyman casually let himself in? What if the husband was home, wouldn't he think it was weird that the handyman let himself in?
So many of these 'breaking news' stories seem to get the facts wrong. They report information before most of it is completely verified.
There's probably a lot more to this story. As others have suggested, the husband might have enjoyed watching his wife with other men or they simply had an open marriage, the husband had a sidepiece too.

Her body wasn't found on the sidewalk, the bag was found several yards off the sidewalk into the park by a man walking his dog. It wasn't an ordinary duffel bag, it was the hockey bag of one of her sons with wheels. Although her body was stabbed over 55 times, with other severe disfiguring cuts, it wasn't dismembered.

^ And no, her son didn't have wheels, his hockey bag did.

"how could a 60-year old have teen kids?"
I'll be 68 when my son graduates high school.

This isn't several yards off the sidewalk. You can also see the blood pouring out of the bag onto the sidewalk in the still at R359.

Handyman Lovers can be so fickle...And you have to be careful because they know how to use sharp objects.

I stand corrected. But she wasn't dismembered.

"how could a 60-year old have teen kids?"
Ask Alec Baldwin.

What a stupid réponse. We are talking about the ability for a women to have babies, not men. An old fart man can impregnate a woman for many years.
Alec's baby incubating wife Hilarious is only 38. Alec isn't having the babies, his much younger wife is. duh
Few women in their 50s, let alone 60s, can have babies. Some women go into menopause in their early 40s.

The victim was 51, took excellent care of her appearance and looked youthful. Her looks attracted the wrong attention.

R594 For sure she looked good but it seems like she was actively courting the wrong kind of attention. It is wholly possible to be attractive without cheating on your husband with a rough trade type.

I wonder if the husband is going to do a DNA test on his kids now?...How could he be certain now? ...Was the Handyman in the picture years ago?...The son and the Handyman both have that big curly hair thing going on....Go see for yourself....

Victim looks a little like Blythe Danner. A younger Danner could play her in a movie.

Maybe they really didn't have an affair. He could have been obsessed with her and it was in his head. She was very attractive and seemed to have a lot going for her in life. I can't imagine her being with that guy. Who knows...

Michael Cimino should play Bonola in the TV movie. Kelly Rutherford for Orsolya.

I’d guess he used a translator with the encouragement of the court. Nobody wants him claiming later that he didn’t understand what he was being asked or that his testimony was misunderstood.
