A very strange story — a stabbing, not a shooting, in a suburban neighborhood, in the morning.

Could be job-related, could be an argument with a hotheaded neighbor.

Or it could be a rightwing Oathkeeper type R2.

Or could be a leftwing Dem, R3:
German spent months reporting on the turmoil surrounding Robert Telles’ oversight of the office. The 45-year-old Democrat lost his re-election bid in June’s primary after German’s findings were published.
Less than a day after asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the stabbing death of Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative reporter Jeff German, police arrested Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles on Wednesday on suspicion of murder, Sheriff Joe Lombardo said.
Hours earlier, Las Vegas police interviewed Telles and searched his home.
By 6 p.m. Wednesday, police had returned in tactical gear and were surrounding the home while Telles remained inside.
The search and subsequent police activity marked a stunning development in the police investigation because it indicated for the first time that the killing might be related to German’s work exposing public wrongdoing. German’s investigation of Telles this year contributed to the Democrat’s primary election loss, and German was working on a potential follow-up story about Telles before he was killed.

What a stunner. From the video camera evidence, the vehicle match, the highly suspicious activity cleaning the SUV, to the hazmat suit straight out of Dexter, this Telles guy seems to have been caught...ahem...'red'-handed.

Such a sad shame. He was just the kind of investigating reporter that is needed now and rarely found. RIP.

He was investigating a Democrat and the guy didn't like it, so he killed him

A Clark County, Nevada, Democrat official was arrested on Wednesday evening on suspicion of murdering Las Vegas Journal-Review investigative reporter Jeff German after a series of reports exposing corruption.

The 45-year-old Democrat lost his re-election bid in the primary after German’s findings were published. German also had recently filed public records requests for emails and text messages between Telles and three other county officials: Assistant Public Administrator Rita Reid, estate coordinator Roberta Lee-Kennett and consultant Michael Murphy. Lee-Kennett was identified in previous stories as a subordinate staffer allegedly involved in an “inappropriate relationship” with Telles

One shoe is cut in half through the blood-stained sole and the top part is cut off, the hat is cut into five big pieces, and he sliced up his arms for good measure.

If he had watched just one episode of [italic]CSI: Vegas[/italic]...

Murdering journalists is something one associates more with Mexico and Russia. Just another sign of the decline of civilization.

Telles' DNA matched DNA found at the crime scene (under the victim's fingernails.) Oops.
