R30- For years I've been watching that show on TLC called My Big Fat Fabulous Life. It's a reality show about an obese woman who weighs about 350 pounds and she only desires slim guys. She was on a blind date last season and was all upset that the good looking Indian guy had the temerity to not be interested in her 350 pound self.

I've said this before but obese people live in a world of denial and fantasy, probably as a self-defensive mechanism.
They're always talking about how they don't eat THAT much or they're just biological predisposed to be obese, etc.
And some of that may be biologically true in that once you're > 60 pounds overweight, your body sort of resets itself as your 'norm'. The worst part is that the main method to get back to normal - exercise - becomes much more difficult, so you become more sedentary which leads to more weight gain.
The reality is so few overweight people understand or know what they're putting into their body. Not really. They underestimate calories and don't know what some of the sugar, corn syrup, and processed foods does to your body chemistry. They really don't.
We need more nutrition education in our schools.
