True Crime Buffs: Dorothy Jane Scott

Is anyone familiar with this case? This took place in 1980. She was a single mother who was being stalked. She received anonymous phone calls and the caller knew everything she did, even what she was wearing. She apparently thought she recognized the voice but couldn’t put a face with it. She took two friends to the hospital and while they waited for her to get her car in the hospital parking lot, they saw her car barreling down the pathway, not stopping. They couldn’t get a look at the driver because the headlights were on and they were blinding. Her friends were actually waiting awhile inside the hospital and because she was taking so long, they went outside to wait. That’s when the car came rushing by. The family received phone calls every week for 4 years with the person saying that they had her or asking them if she was home sarcastically. They finally found her remains in 1984 buried under a dog skeleton off the side of the road. They still haven’t solved it. The killer also knew why she took her friends to the hospital and even what scarf she was wearing the day she went missing. She worked in a back office and didn’t really deal with the public nor dated. Her poor son, now an adult, still doesn’t know who murdered his mother.

This shit reminds me of the first Scream movie with Drew Barrymore getting phone calls.

It's sad & scary what some are capable of.

It’s amazing that this story hasn’t gotten more press. The fact that this guy could still be out there is crazy. I can’t imagine she was his only victim.

Other victims aside from her family that is. There must be other women hr stalked.
