Who is the Meryl with the black eye in a white dress? Who is the Meryl blowing gum? Who is the Meryl at the bottom right in black boots?

by Anonymousreply 3October 16, 2023 5:44 AM

Guess which one I liked best!

Kramer vs. Kramer.

by Anonymousreply 6October 16, 2023 5:52 AM

Miranda Priestly, front and center, of course.

by Anonymousreply 7October 16, 2023 6:16 AM

I think the Meryl blowing the bubble gum = Karen Silkwood.

by Anonymousreply 9October 16, 2023 6:19 AM

Is that Silkwood? Her blowing the gum.

by Anonymousreply 10October 16, 2023 6:19 AM

Julia is there.

I can’t find the Bridges of Madison County.

by Anonymousreply 11October 16, 2023 6:25 AM

I see the many faces, but did they also get the many chins and asses of this so called “icon”?

by Anonymousreply 12October 16, 2023 6:32 AM

Oh Glenn. Such a bitter and jealous old man.

by Anonymousreply 13October 16, 2023 6:55 AM

I've watched too many. I'm done.

They should have includes The Bridges Of Madison County, her best performance of the 90s. It was also missing from her tribute real when she got the Lifetime Achievement at the Golden Globes.

Could also have included her with a violin for "Music Of The Heart". But still very good!

Is the lower left one with the boa supposed to be Suzanne in Postcards from the Edge or Alice at the Palace?

by Anonymousreply 16October 16, 2023 9:38 AM

Seen 'em all. All fantastic. But it's obvious when discussing her career as a whole that she chooses roles based on what she can bring to the character rather than the potential quality of the film itself. She's breathed life to a lot of fascinating women in some really lackluster movies.

by Anonymousreply 18October 16, 2023 2:28 PM

What *classic* films was she offered that she turned down?

by Anonymousreply 19October 16, 2023 4:15 PM

What movie is the very top left (above Silkwood)?

by Anonymousreply 20October 16, 2023 4:32 PM

This really is an amazing painting and clever idea. Although I'm not a huge Meryl Streep fan, but I'd buy it if I could afford to.

by Anonymousreply 22October 16, 2023 4:41 PM

Beautiful. I hope she got/gets to see it for herself

by Anonymousreply 23October 16, 2023 4:47 PM

Are they? She’s certainly made the film’s memorable. Must actresses would kill to have her resume.

by Anonymousreply 24October 16, 2023 6:53 PM

She gave three of the best performances of all time IMO during the 80s with Sophie's Choice & Silkwood (filmed back to back, the latter when she was in the early stages of pregnancy and sick), then A Cry In The Dark. She earned her rep for all time with these performances

She looked stunning in Manhattan

It was the hair.

by Anonymousreply 27October 16, 2023 7:49 PM

I don't see 'A River Wild' Streep.

by Anonymousreply 28October 16, 2023 7:56 PM

R28 I guess she'd look a bit out of place with all that flying water. They could just use an oar I guess

by Anonymousreply 29October 16, 2023 8:00 PM

I've never missed a Meryl movie. She's the greatest actress of all time.

by Anonymousreply 30October 16, 2023 8:04 PM

I remember Meryl was almost Oscar-nominated for THE RIVER WILD.

She got SAG and Golden Globe nods.

R31 haha one of the weakest year's for BA, arguably followed by the strongest year of the 90s. If only Dolores Claiborne, Safe or To Die For were released in 1994. All deserved nominations but 1995 was so competitive for BA

by Anonymousreply 32October 16, 2023 8:45 PM

21 faces in the photo OP posted, but only one set of practiced mannerisms. La Streep has been recycling her greatest hits for some time now.
