"The Great Rupert" 1950 You will believe a squirrel can dance!

TCM airs "The Great Rupert," a small movie with a big heart, on Mon., Dec. 18 @ 5 p.m./ET. And again, Dec. 24 @ 9 a.m. Special effects legend George Pal created a mechanical version of the title character, a dancing squirrel, which is still quite convincing! Rupert, once part of a showbiz act, hides out in his former abode when a poor showbiz family takes up residence. Let's just say Rupert has a positive effect on their finances! Endearing Jimmy Durante and a cast of familiar faces put this tall tale over with ease. Even DL Grinches might enjoy this! My look at "Rupert":
