Letecia Stauch is Colorado's new mother of the year (not).

Women don’t kill, they’ve got this wrong.

It was her stepson. To be in my league you have to kill one of your own children.

That timeline confused me because it just said February 2022, not guilty by reason of insanity. So I read that as she was. FOUND not guilty by reason of insanity and thought "what the hell? What about double Jeopardy?"
I had to Google a lot to figure out what the hell was going on.
She just pled not guilty by reason of insanity in 2022. They need a better infographics artist.

According to large Marge she's not a real mother.

It's been nearly 30 years, Pats. The definition of mother has been expanded broadly. And no one can afford to live in Boulder anymore.

Couldn’t you have waited until Mother’s Day to publish this charming story?

Mrs. Ramsey and I are on the same page—step-children are in a different league.
Still—eighteen stab wounds is impressive.

The recorded phone call with hubs was wild. While he’s searching for his missing child, she’s on the lam as a suspect… yet pissed he’s in contact with his first wife during the search.

Stabbing is not very personal

I came across this story when the child was first reported missing and then watched the whole trial. It really was, as the judge said, horrific. The step mother seemed to get a sick satisfaction out of torturing Gannon's parents, from dangling different stories of what "really" happened in front of his father to using Gannon's phone to call his mother. And then the fact that she stabbed, bludgeoned and shot him before putting him in a suitcase and dumping him.

One does not spoil the chance for two consecutive generations of pageant winners in the family. No need to rush.
Unless there are signs of disappointment looming.

She was just a psychotically jealous bitch.

So, did she kill the stepson to make his father suffer, or just because he was annoying the living fuck out of her?
If it's the latter, I can empathize.

Her Google searches indicated she didn't like him and she resented being a step-mother but no-one knows if something particular set her off. Psychiatrists for the prosecution thought she had borderline and narcissitic features.

Isn’t this like the story The Juniper Tree.

Once again ,you dont marry crazy. Crazy sex is usually over the top fantastic, but its attached to crazy. That poor kid had to suffer a terrible death because dad stuck his dick in crazy.

The judge's comments before sentencing give a good summary of the issues. A bonus is that he has an extremely soothing voice.

if she wanted to calm the jurors, she might have tamed her inky, Morticia Addams length hairdo for court.
Buy a goddamn barrette, lady!

I suspect that what happened was she injured him too severely while doling out one of her "punishments" and realized she'd really fucked up and gone too far and so had to kill him, because if she took him to a hospital, she'd be arrested for sure. This is probably why he had ibuprofen and hydrocodone in his system—she'd administered it to him after a bad beating while she tried to figure out what to do.
