Drew Barrymore's looks and fame were at their peak when she lowered herself to star in the best of three TV movies about Amy Fisher.

She nailed the off-putting gruff Long Island girl accent.

This was actually part of her big comeback. She had been through a lot with going to rehab and admitting to the public she had been an addict since eight years old. She did this film and Poison Ivy and the rest is history. She became the wild child “IT” girl of the nineties.

She is soooo much more talented then people give her credit for. The Amy Fisher movie may not be the best, but she was really good in it. She was fantastic in "Grey Gardens" as well. "Everafter" is still my favorite...If only "200 (?) Malibu Road" wasn't cancelled!

Drew was hilariously weird/ fucked-up in Santa Clarita Diet, with the yummy Timothy Olyphant.
I have not seen that Amy Fisher movie but it looks interesting.

Ooooh I forgot about this. Wasn’t there a “rival” movie about it?

Tori Spelling was the best Amy Fisher.

The authorized Amy Fisher TV movie with Noelle Parker, titled incorrectly as the Drew Barrymore one.

I miss Santa Clarita Diet. Such a funny weird show.

I also loved Drew in Ever After, and I was impressed by how genuinely nice she seemed in the promotion for the film. For awhile there in the late 80s and early 90s, it looked like she was going to end up depressed and in trouble like many other child stars, but she turned her life around. She seems surprisingly normal when you consider her past.
