The inside looks like a sad Airbnb.

by Anonymousreply 1February 7, 2023 1:45 PM

I'm only half way through but so far my observation is that she has VERY bad taste.

by Anonymousreply 2February 7, 2023 2:05 PM

Every time she went into a different space I kept thinking maybe this will be better. But it wasn't.

by Anonymousreply 3February 7, 2023 2:12 PM

I might have enjoyed it but her motormouth was very off-putting. People who rapid fire yammer set my nerves on edge. And frankly, I don't enjoy most of these Hollywood types who show their houses to the world. Their grandiose descriptions of everything they bought and how or why they (or their designers) placed everything is very tiring. You bought a light fixture. So what? There's no need to claim it spoke to you and touched your inner spirit and told you that you simply must have it.

But on to that minuscule beach shack. I certainly hope it is indeed a getaway and not her full time residence. There's not much room for her and Holland to peg each other with their strap-ons. I will say though, I loved the bathroom. It was gorgeous. That sterile kitchen was an abomination. The bedroom wall covering was oppressive.

by Anonymousreply 4February 7, 2023 2:34 PM

My parents once rented a country cottage in England in the 1970s that hadn't been touched since the 1950s - this place reminds me of it.

by Anonymousreply 5February 7, 2023 2:37 PM

It's fine. The envelope is great; it's the furnishings that are a little boring and unsurprising for me. You'd think a little beach shack - no matter how many millions it likely cost - would have a bit more whimsy or personality.

by Anonymousreply 6February 7, 2023 2:39 PM

Is that a gas range? The sacrilege!

by Anonymousreply 7February 7, 2023 2:43 PM

It's cozy, but kind of cold. That bedroom with the patterned wallpaper and bedspread is kind of hideous but the colors work from a distance.

The whole place does kind of come off like a high end Marriot property.

by Anonymousreply 8February 7, 2023 2:45 PM

One thing that struck me was her comment about that loveseat. She said she couldn't find a thing anywhere on the market she liked so she had that one made. You can find that boring couch in any furniture store on the planet in the same boring grey fabric. There is not one thing special about that thing other than the fact that she probably paid 10 times what it's worth to have it made.

And she should be ashamed. A lesbian who doesn't cook? IT'S SIMPLY NOT DONE!! She should turn in her dyke card.

by Anonymousreply 9February 7, 2023 2:52 PM

It's small and modest. She's one of the poors.

by Anonymousreply 10February 7, 2023 3:16 PM

She looks like Judy Garland circa 1968.

And that’s exactly the kind of home she would have had at that point as well

by Anonymousreply 11February 7, 2023 3:16 PM

I liked the idea of a compact beach retreat, but the interior is all too timid and contained and girly for me.

I hate the sterile white kitchen. If you don't cook, design a kitchen for what you do do in it: make drinks, maybe heat something up, keep some bowls of fruit and things to eat at hand, but no, she wanted the white science lab. It lacks only a centrifuge for preparing specimen slides. And if I didn't use a kitchen much, I would incorporate the few kitchen things I do use into the living room space. She's taken a small space and split it into two disparate halves.

The enclosed garden is tiny and private and lovely, the best thing about the place. It doesn't seem the house has much connection to it by way of glass walls or doors (or maybe I fast-forwarded through those bits.) The garden furniture and plantings could be better, but that's easily fixed.

by Anonymousreply 12February 7, 2023 3:19 PM

Carol Burnett is looking good for her age!

by Anonymousreply 13February 7, 2023 3:20 PM

How does the "can't cook" thing work out when you live in Malibu, I wonder.

by Anonymousreply 14February 7, 2023 3:22 PM

She hired a "DECORATOR" to do that?

by Anonymousreply 15February 7, 2023 3:25 PM

I prefer this Malibu house.

I feel as though Holland Taylor deserves a better living abode....

by Anonymousreply 21February 7, 2023 4:22 PM

She only mentioned Holland Taylor once, when she said a painting was a gift from Holland.

by Anonymousreply 22February 7, 2023 5:00 PM

She's a bit too precious for my taste... she always looks like a lesbian Stepford Wife

She's also rather bland on screen. She owes her entire career to Ryan Murphy.

by Anonymousreply 23February 7, 2023 5:25 PM

r9, she probably just eats out

by Anonymousreply 24February 7, 2023 5:28 PM

A friend worked with her a few years ago and said she was extremely intense - never stopped talking, VERY anxious.

I think she's a great actress, but I bet she's exhausting to be around.

by Anonymousreply 26February 7, 2023 5:41 PM

[quote]I think she's a great actress, but I bet she's exhausting to be around.

I KNOW she is, I just watched the video too.

[quote] I feel as though Holland Taylor deserves a better living abode....

That old hag Holland doesn't deserve shit and neither does Sarah.

by Anonymousreply 28February 7, 2023 6:18 PM

Ugh the florid language “lovely, beautiful, like uhm, beautiful, beautiful…”

I do like the structure and the kitchen finishes. But her narrative is packed with “really beautiful “. The posts above are true, this gal is odd and full of herself, and the intimacy with her designer feels yucky and pretentious. But the little house is pretty cool, and she has some very nice fixtures set into the design, and some really cool fabrics.

She’s ok, talented, a little weird. I’d like that little gas range, and maybe a soaking tub.

It’s confusing when people admit that they never cook with some strange pride in that statement. That’s “a thing” I guess.

by Anonymousreply 29February 7, 2023 6:50 PM

[quote]It’s confusing when people admit that they never cook with some strange pride in that statement.

I always find it very off-putting, especially in a woman.

by Anonymousreply 30February 7, 2023 6:57 PM

If it’s a woman, it’s like saying “I have an active eating disorder”.

by Anonymousreply 31February 7, 2023 7:46 PM

It's also essentially bragging that you can afford to eat out all the time. It's pretty expensive not to know how to cook.

by Anonymousreply 32February 7, 2023 8:01 PM

Am I the only person who gets annoyed with youtube-based TF threads? I want pics, not a vid tour. But I know it's not all about me.

by Anonymousreply 33February 7, 2023 8:04 PM

Is somebody at AD keeping an eagle eye on DL's Tasteful threads now? OP's video has been yanked offline!

by Anonymousreply 34February 7, 2023 8:10 PM

I don't know why some people are so weird about videos.

by Anonymousreply 35February 7, 2023 8:11 PM

[quote]Is somebody at AD keeping an eagle eye on DL's Tasteful threads now?

I wouldn't be at all surprised.

I've known this to happen several times over the years and what's the likelihood she has at least one DL friend who told her about this?

by Anonymousreply 36February 7, 2023 8:13 PM

[quote]It's cozy, but kind of cold. That bedroom with the patterned wallpaper and bedspread is kind of hideous but the colors work from a distance.

LOL R8

by Anonymousreply 37February 7, 2023 8:16 PM

I don't think it's because of us but why did it go private? So weird.

by Anonymousreply 38February 7, 2023 8:16 PM

She seems like a nice person, but this bird spends too much time in Ryan Murphy's cage.

He needs her a lot more than she needs him.

by Anonymousreply 39February 7, 2023 8:17 PM

[quote]I don't think it's because of us

I've known videos pulled because they were exposed to the DL slaughter. I've also known people come on here to respond to the cuntiness.

There's an actor who someone here said he'd fucked and that he was a bottom or something like that and he came on to say this never happened, gurl.

by Anonymousreply 40February 7, 2023 8:19 PM

I hate to admit it but I did rather like it. Except that operating room of a kitchen. I wonder why it was set to private? Did she get her feelings hurt by a comment? I cant stand this one note bitch anyway. I only enjoyed her on AHS in the Asylum one.Other than that, she stinks up the room.

by Anonymousreply 41February 7, 2023 8:24 PM

[quote]Other than that, she stinks up the room.

She's sure to get them to put it back on now.

DL said she was fucking Pedro years ago.

DL had some serious friend of Cherry Jones posters who used to provide a lot of dirt about her when she started cheating on her. This was back in the day. A lot of stuff was posted about her.

by Anonymousreply 46February 7, 2023 9:46 PM

[quote]Am I the only person who gets annoyed with youtube-based TF threads? I want pics, not a vid tour. But I know it's not all about me.

Agreed, R33. Same with news stories, I prefer to read than watch a video from start to finish, or in my case fast-forward through much of it. I can sum up a long news article in seconds. It's worse, actually, with houses and interiors: the host or celebrity guiding you through the your is usually at least a little tedious if not a long, painful exercise in embarrassment and mismatched interests. I usually don't care what some celebrity has to offer about the design process or "how great it was working with my friend and super talented designer." Just a few paragraphs of facts and a lot of quality photos.

I couldn't really give a fuck about Cindy Crawford articulating her design aesthetic, or Richard Gere's, or Rashida Jones' -- it's all exactly the same meaningless word scramble. Show me some photos and let me decide if the house is worth a look or not.

by Anonymousreply 47February 7, 2023 10:39 PM

R16, is that a house or a town?

by Anonymousreply 48February 8, 2023 12:01 AM

Uh oh, she must have gotten wind of this thread. The OP video has been taken private.

by Anonymousreply 49February 8, 2023 12:07 AM

I would have paid her money if she would have taken that ill fitting thing she was wearing off and burned it.

I guess she thought she was clever/cute when she said—- get out of my house! Gladly, you boring talentless cunt.

by Anonymousreply 53February 8, 2023 1:14 AM

[quote] She’s a poet

But she don't know it 'cause her feet are longfellows

by Anonymousreply 54February 8, 2023 2:28 AM

I think she looks good with her new haircut and color.

But I feel like she tries too hard to be feminine at times. Something inauthentic there.

by Anonymousreply 55February 8, 2023 2:42 AM

“Divine” and “lovely” somehow sound more like words you’d hear used by Holland Taylor.

by Anonymousreply 56February 8, 2023 2:47 AM

“Divine” and “lovely” — hey, those are MY words!

by Anonymousreply 57February 8, 2023 2:49 AM

She is quite effective at cozying up to more famous female celebrities. Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Diane Keaton, Jessica Lange, etc.

There is something a little manipulative and calculated about her.

She was great as Marcia Clark though.

by Anonymousreply 58February 8, 2023 2:52 AM

For being in love or partnered with Holland, she refers to the house as "my" house not "our" house. Does Holland need her own space from Sarah?

And yes, she can't wait to name drop Cate, Jessica, Sandra & Diane whenever it suits her.

by Anonymousreply 59February 8, 2023 3:05 AM

It's her bolthole. It's not her main home for goodness sake, R59.

by Anonymousreply 60February 8, 2023 8:48 AM

Google Sarah Paulson Malibu House and it comes up right away on the AD site. Not rocket science.

It's giving me early 90's, NYC struggling actress, 5th floor walk up studio realness. By Nickey Kehoe.

Her "yard" was gravel. How nice for the dogs.

by Anonymousreply 61February 8, 2023 11:06 AM

They turned it back on the video @ OP.

by Anonymousreply 62February 8, 2023 11:06 PM

A Malibu house with out a view of the ocean? No thanks.

by Anonymousreply 63February 8, 2023 11:45 PM

we don't know if it has a view or not

by Anonymousreply 64February 8, 2023 11:53 PM

Why are these artists so thoroughly superficial and self-impressed? And yet simultaneously deeply insecure and seeking affirmation. Why is everything FANTASTIC and WONDERFUL when they are all just more commodities? Does the decorator supply the beach hat? The 2 votive candle holders? It looks like everything is still for sale. It looks like a pop up shop. It's a pop up getaway house.

by Anonymousreply 65February 9, 2023 12:03 AM

What’s wrong with everyone here? She’s smart and funny and talented and clearly doing well enough to afford a beach a terre! Paulson is house proud and I understand her enthusiasm for the choices she made with her designer. I bet she’s a blast to hang out with.

by Anonymousreply 66February 9, 2023 12:26 AM

R66 I’m not sure about that (unless you’re a movie star, she seems like the type who would probably ignore anyone outside the business). That said, I give her a lot of credit for making it without nepotism or family connections. That’s no easy task. Especially with a face like that. She’s talented and I’m glad she’s able to buy herself a nice house.

Also she seems to treat Holland Taylor well.

by Anonymousreply 67February 9, 2023 1:13 AM

These people don't even decorate their homes themselves. They hire people to design "a look".
