Steve McQueen as a teenager in The Blob

He was 28 in real life but damn, that's gotta be the oldest 20-something guy I've ever seen. I know I'll never make fun of Stockard Channing in Grease again - she looked like a toddler compared to McQueen.

While I agree, he gave a good performance and the film itself is amazingly effective.

How about Gabrielle Carter on 90210?

what 28 year old has lines on their forehead and a big sun damage splotch on their cheek?

Correction - he was actually 27 when the movie was made.

McQueen was fair-skinned and spent a lot of time in the sun. You can see what that did to James Arness, Clint Eastwood, and Robert Redford. The sun damage just started showing at a younger age for McQueen than the others.

Just finished reading a biography on him. Extremely complicated soul, horrendous childhood.

Treated his first two wives, Neile and Ali, horribly. He wasn't married to wife #3 very long.

Got high nearly every day, grass, cocaine, peyote.

Jay Sebring, hair stylist murdered with Sharon Tate, was his main drug supplier.

Died in 1980 at age 50 after an especially gruesome battle with cancer.

He had a rough life.

He was essentially a drifter from the age of 14, when he joined the circus to escape his abusive stepfather, then was sent to reform school where he was abused, then went into the military — all before he was 18.
