News network @viceworldnews reported on a disturbing situation out of Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. YouTuber Miles Routledge, a self-described "danger tourist," is one of three UK nationals currently being held captive by Taliban secret police.
Posting videos as "Lord Miles" on YouTube, Routledge sensationalizes his travel by visiting the most dangerous areas in the world "for fun." Many of his videos involve him traveling through destabilized or wartorn regions such as Ukraine, Kenya, and of course, Afghanistan, where he previously made a narrow escape from.

If you go looking for danger and you find it...oh well. What did he expect?

No sympathy for someone so stupid

[quote] "Play stupid games..."
Agreed, R2. And it wasn't even the first time he'd been to Afghanistan. The article said he'd narrowly escaped once before (in addition to traveling to other dangerous places). Now, the Taliban will take his head, which he wasn't using to begin with.

[quote]Other videos on Mr Routledge’s channel show him attempting to sneak into the United States from Mexico and spending 48 hours homeless in New York City. In one video, he wears mediaeval armour to visit Snake island off the coast of Brazil which is populated by thousands of vipers and where visitors are banned. However he failed to spot a single snake during the outing.
What a twat. Hope the Taliban keep him.

He’s cute. His ass is going to be fucked raw by the Taliban.
| by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 4, 2023 10:46 PM |
Been there, done that, got the casket.
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 4, 2023 10:51 PM |
I felt bad for him at first, but after watching a few of his videos, he's an alt-right dickhead. Fuck him.
I mean, I hope he's ok and everything. But he's not a great person.
| by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 4, 2023 11:02 PM |
...came to the "found out" portion of tonight's program.
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 4, 2023 11:14 PM |
Oof, and he's cute as well and gives off a homosexual vibe, sucks for him. Pretty sure that lily-white buss is gonna be ruined if/when he's rescued, the Taliban won't be able to restrain themselves from sampling it over and over again. They're savages like that.
Again, no one but himself to blame.

The truly sad thing is that now the British government will be forced to spend time and energy, and probably some diplomatic concessions, to get this little fuckwit out of prison. I say if Little Miss Danger thought it was cute to run into the bear's den, let the bears have her.

Extreme adrenaline seekers are so weird to me. They’re like junkies looking for a fix.
| by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 5, 2023 12:33 AM |
Hopefully he doesn’t make it.
Reminds me of Redditors who encourage travel to Iran, North Korea, and other dystopian shitholes.

I love the excitement of danger travel.
That trip to Chernobyl gave me a real glow!

When I first saw the thread title, my immediate thought was "that's different. It's usually some British person who gets in harm's way by being somewhere they shouldn't be." Then I read further and saw it was indeed someone from the UK. You see that a lot with natural disasters in some god forsaken part of the world, where you think no Western person would be, but it turns out that British people were there. Talk about not accepting that the empire is over. Why do British people still travel to strange, dangerous and out of the way places? You have all of Europe on your doorstep to visit instead, for goodness sakes.
| by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 5, 2023 12:44 AM |
My next danger trip will be to Marjorie Taylor Green’s pussy.
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 5, 2023 12:46 AM |
The British government advises against all travel to Afghanistan. I think anyone who disregards such clear warnings and travels to a country for "danger tourism" or to make social media content should not receive any assistance whatsoever. They are too arrogant and stupid to live.

Did that apply to Julian Sands?

R9 you can hate people for being alt-right. The fact that this moron is also a Nazi is enough for me to hate him.

From Vice: "Routledge is not the world’s most sympathetic figure. He has been posting about his experiences on 4chan, YouTube, and Twitter for years. Going into a country, acting like an asshole, and getting harassed by the local authorities is his entire brand. He has published videos about being arrested in Kenya, sneaking across the EU border, and cosplaying as a homeless person by living on the streets of New York City for a whopping 48 hours."
Fuck his stupid ass.

[quote] Brit 'danger tourist' captured by Taliban 'flew to Afghanistan to organise gun deal'
[quote] He joked that a previous trip to Afghanistan was for "networking with the Talibros" as he posted a photo of himself and members of the terrorist group, that has now captured him and charity medic Kevin Cornwell.
[quote] Routledge, a devout Christian, claimed that his second visit was an attempt to broker an arms deal between the terrorists group and the Ukrainian government.

r20 My stance all time. It doesn't matter if this particular person is alt-right or whatever. I feel the same for leftwing or non-rightwing person who do the same things.

I've been following him for about 2 years now on Twitter. He's always been a total dumb ass, but he somehow survived every adventure and he documented each one pretty well. He's a trad cath, and he's mentioned that he's looking for a virgin tradwife. He's anti gay, well, anti liberal to make things simple. I believe that he's still a virgin -- he must've given every girl he's met the "ick" -- so he goes on these expeditions to feel less insecure as a man. I think he might've gone to South Sudan as well recently.
| by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 5, 2023 4:01 AM |
Other than some advanced countries - minority - the world is filled with shithole countries. No wonder a conservative virgin feels at home among the most dystopian shitholes.
| by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 5, 2023 4:09 AM |
If he's trad cath (they believe all divorced people are burning in Hell and women are barely more than breeding stock), the world is better if he dies.
| by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 5, 2023 4:11 AM |
Oh honey, he's no virgin anymore. He's been a pass around party bottom since they got him. Those horned up men have never tasted ginger pussy like his. He is already torn up! Instead of Lord Miles, he'll be known as Miles O'Cock around the pub. If he makes it out alive.

not that this lad a journalist, seems mediocre, but perhaps he'll grow in time.

Why would the British High need to do anything for him? He obviously is friends with them. The other two need help.
| by Anonymous | reply 37 | April 5, 2023 5:19 AM |
Why would be want to be evacuated or rescued? He likes the danger.
| by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 5, 2023 5:28 AM |

vice journalists which do most of the same trips say he's connected to white supremacy organizations

YouTuber Bald and Bankrupt went to Afghanistan last year and got out unscathed. It’s actually really interesting to see these places most of us are lucky enough to never have to travel to.

What does the Taliban do with their fuckboys they tire of or who get too loose? Middle East men love white boys but they must replace them after a while.

As an AI language model, I cannot provide current travel advice. However, it is important to note that Afghanistan has experienced significant political instability and ongoing conflict for many years. The security situation in the country remains volatile, with a high risk of terrorist attacks, kidnapping, and other violent crimes. Many governments around the world have issued travel advisories or warnings against traveling to Afghanistan.
If you are considering traveling to Afghanistan, it is recommended that you closely monitor the situation and seek the latest information and advice from your country's foreign affairs department or embassy in Afghanistan. You should also carefully consider the risks involved and take appropriate safety precautions if you do decide to travel.

So if we had a poll going and you could only choose one, would you categorize this guy as an attention whore or an idiot?
| by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 5, 2023 5:53 AM |

They won't do anything to him except fuck him.
Afghans are not like North Koreans. They just want a rise from the British government. The UK should say, they can keep him. They'll let him go after they tire of him.
| by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 5, 2023 6:31 AM |
He's a white nationalist scumfuck.
| by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 5, 2023 7:37 AM |
I don't blame him. I completely get the appeal of visiting dangerous places. I have an EU passport and I've toyed with the idea of going to Iran. I hope he gets out soon.
| by Anonymous | reply 59 | April 5, 2023 7:49 AM |
R60 for me the thrill would be about going somewhere "off limits" to regular western tourists. I have no interest in gawking at violence.

That idiot basketball player too. She was told not to go, but she did and created a diplomatic crisis and considerable waste of resources.
Citizens who do not obey government instructions should not be bailed out. Ask Diaper Don.

I would like to go on one of the Chernobyl tours but war torn countries or totalitarian states are a no deal for me.

I think visiting Gaza might cross the line into voyeuristic misery tourism. I'd love to see Ramallah though.

At around 1:55 in this video, Lord Miles drops her mask upon seeing a hot Afghan man. Gurrrrl! The Talibros must have figured him out, and he’ll be lucky to not come home in a body bag with his teeth re-arranged like the American college student who danger-traveled to North Korea.

r66 I was a bit interested in Chernobyl, non-civilised parts of ex-Soviet, -stan countries and NK, etc. when I was a teenager. But watching videos and photo blogs were enough to satisfy my curiosity and I've never had desire to actually go there.

There’s a community of competitive travellers on the internet. Others like him on YouTube are Drew Binsky and Indigo Traveller. There are ones that are pure ‘country counters’ racing around to basically set foot briefly in one place after another and then others that go more in depth or go for the ‘danger’ factor. Drew is the least assholish of the ones I’ve seen.
There are other groups like MTP (Most Travelled People) and Nomad Mania where members can sign up and track visiting 1500 ‘locations’ in the world. For perspective, there are 193 UN countries, so this list accounts sub national regions, islands, and geographic anomalies of various kinds. For example, Switzerland isn’t complete unless you visited every canton. Antarctica is divided into 10 regions if I recall. The people at the top of the list are mostly independently wealthy people who travel most of the year. They are overwhelmingly men. Some of these 1500 places are so inaccessible or off limits that members will chart yachts or pay to join research teams to get there. It’s very interesting to follow people, but it’s also very obsessive especially when spending huge resources and time to travel to a random remote rocky island with nothing but bird shit. It’s about the challenge and journey I guess.
