A college friend did the same thing. Except he drove around until he found a yard completely fenced in with kids toys. Set the puppy inside the fence and left.

Watching that little dog being dumped and left behind is sad, because the dog seems so confused and probably scared. But at least in this case, the dog is away from this person and now safe, and may now be given to someone who actually wants him and will love him.
