Princess Iman of Jordan got married.

Her brother walked her down the aisle and not her father the King. Wonder why. Ceremony not held in a Mosque either. Is she knocked up? Her dangling tendrils are as messy as Markle's.

Her brother is very cute.

I have thought Crown Prince Hussein very cute too, r2 - particularly when one is used to looking at Windsors!

by Anonymousreply 4March 13, 2023 5:41 PM

Interesting that the father didn't walk his eldest daughter down the aisle; assuming he's not locked in a cellar as part of some family coup, there must be a story behind this rivaling Windsor drama.

by Anonymousreply 5March 13, 2023 6:02 PM

His last name sounds Greek and he's probably not a Muzzie hence her father hot walking her down the aisle.

by Anonymousreply 6March 13, 2023 6:05 PM

Glad she found someone after David Bowie died.

by Anonymousreply 7March 13, 2023 6:10 PM

He's a Venezuelan-born Greek. First name is Dimitrios, but goes by Jimmy. I guess Jameel was on the wedding announcement because it's the closest sounding Arabic equivalent. His parents immigrated there and the father is some sort of an industrialist. Jimmy founded some investment firm in NYC. She went to Parson's. His religion was never mentioned in any of the articles.

The Crown Prince is getting married to a Saudi woman in July. From a wealthy family, of course, and has an architecture degree from Syracuse.

There's a messy story here and I'm counting on the DM to reveal it.

by Anonymousreply 9March 13, 2023 6:14 PM

Why are they attending B list universities?

by Anonymousreply 10March 13, 2023 6:17 PM

It's interesting that a conversation wasn't required for marriage. Isn't that usually the case if one marries in?

by Anonymousreply 11March 13, 2023 6:18 PM

The present King's mother is an Englishwoman and a convert to Islam.

by Anonymousreply 12March 13, 2023 6:22 PM

CP is a Georgetown grad. Seems to be the school of choice for royals. Felipe of Spain, Frederick of Denmark, Albert of Monaco...

Princess Salma attended Sandhurst and is the first female pilot in the Jordanian Air Force. What different career paths for the sisters. Design and the miitary.

R11 surely you meant conversion.

by Anonymousreply 15March 13, 2023 6:26 PM

Your typo, R11, is making me laugh. I couldn't think of any way to cleverly point out your error.

by Anonymousreply 16March 13, 2023 6:26 PM

^ CONVERSION, not conversation at r11

by Anonymousreply 17March 13, 2023 6:26 PM

These royal families don't give a fig about who their daughters marry.

And the king probably didn't want to partake in a wedding not held in a mosque. Even as a secular monarch, he still leads a deeply religious country.

by Anonymousreply 19March 13, 2023 6:29 PM

R16 - I was so appalled and trying to correct it that the "conversation" part slipped me until I saw your post!

But isn't it the case that many traditional Muslim/poor/rural marriages take place with scant or no conversation? The bride is a transactable commodity like livestock, so no conversation is required. I mean who needs to converse meaningfully with something akin to a goat?

by Anonymousreply 20March 13, 2023 6:34 PM

Is this Noor's granddaughter?

by Anonymousreply 21March 13, 2023 6:36 PM

Jordanian men are hot. Anybody had them?

by Anonymousreply 22March 13, 2023 6:39 PM

I can't think of any Arab monarch who considers his daughters to be goats.

[Quote]Jordanian men are hot. Anybody had them?

While I was in Uni in London I dated a very hot Jordanian guy, Tariq. He was from a wealthy family with ties to the Royal family. Damn he was haf, passionate, intelligent, nice dick. Extremely closeted of course.

by Anonymousreply 27March 13, 2023 6:51 PM

R23 - How many Arab monarchs are rural poor?

by Anonymousreply 28March 13, 2023 6:51 PM

Then why mention the rural poor in a thread about cosmopolitan royals who are members of the global .01%?

by Anonymousreply 29March 13, 2023 6:55 PM

I've been with two Jordanian guys.

One silver haired daddy covered in fur. He was intense and fucked like a machine.

The other guy had a British mother and was more Western appearing. But a nice big uncut slab.

by Anonymousreply 34March 13, 2023 7:08 PM

R33 Good to know. And the Al-Khalifas?

by Anonymousreply 35March 13, 2023 7:09 PM

I don't know about them. The Saudi royal family gave a lot of money to Harvard and go there if they can.

by Anonymousreply 36March 13, 2023 7:12 PM

Are those bagpipes in the background????

by Anonymousreply 37March 13, 2023 7:15 PM

When I (privately) prepped Saudi Royals for college they headed for universities in London and Oxbridge (if they could manage). 2 went to French grandes écoles and succeeded (stunning everyone). The engineers wanted EPFL EPFZ and MIT but I didn't prep the science nerds.
