There are a lot of people though who are not financially impacted by covid. In fact, because of work from home, travel restrictions, closures etc. they have more money laying around than ever before. And out of boredom they are buying shit online several times a day. One of my neighbors works for UPS and they have never been this busy. They are hiring anything with a pulse right now. He said that he often had 10 or more packages for houses in the upper middle class neighborhood in town. The record so far was 33 packages to one house over the summer!
So yes it's rather tasteless and out of touch to be shilling expensive crap but I expect it will still sell to these people drowning in cash because all their normal expenditure (restaurants, movies, concerts, clubs, date nights, Disney trips, weekends breaks) have been cancelled.
