…. and decorated your $12 million condo like this??
("Boys Don't Cry" poster makes me think this could be Hillary Swank …)

I don't care what anyone else thinks, that was decorated by someone with whom I'd want to be friends. Someone who doesn't take themselves so seriously.
Apartment No. 66 at 1 West 72nd Street — otherwise known as the famed Dakota — was just listed at a bargain basement price of $15 million, according to New York City's online database of properties for sale. The four-bedroom, 4 1/2-bath property is currently owned by Sean Goodrich and Leslie Finerman, features seven wood-burning fireplaces, floor-to-ceiling windows and hardwood floors, according to the listing.
Illustrating that even New York's sizzling real estate market is subject to the laws of gravity, Apt. 66 is down from its $24 million asking price in 2008, the last time it was on the market. In September, the unit was last listed by Southeby's International Realty for $17.5 million.

There's a children's room, so it can't be Swank. Unless she's a stepmother.
Also, her West Village apartment that was for rent a few years ago is the most bland and boring place imaginable.

They post the old decor photos and the renovation? why?

Is that a child's bedroom? It looks as if you're inside a casket.
The asking price is now down to 12M. Why couldn't they just paint the damn place in a neutral color and stage it with grown-up furniture?

That place is a hundred kinds of upsetting. I’ve seen the kids a couple of times in the lobby.

Great apartment, shame the decor is so mismatched. I’m with r1, it looks like the home of someone who just does their own thing and would be fun. It looks a bit like they brought the furniture from a 1980s Miami loft and just parked it without worrying too much. The Tron style rugs are nightmare inducing but I love the dining table.

Help me out DLers-- I am confused by those photos.
There appear to be two kitchens, one with glass cabinets and vents over a center island stove one with green cabinets with vents over a stove that's against the wall.
Yet the floorplan only shows one kitchen.
Are they before and after photos of the same room?
Is there a hidden kitchen?

Christ, how I'd love to live in NYC.
Now if only I could afford $3,000/month in rent.

Presumably to show the possibilities, R4, since the updates are clearly not to everyone's taste.

Seven fireplaces, but I don't think you're allowed to use your fireplaces in the Dakota. Isn't that where Bono got in trouble with his nebbish neighbors for fireplace violations?

I've been to one of the apartments there and the scale of everything is so unlike other NYC apartments. The hallways (in the apartments, not the common spaces) are eight or ten feet wide. And the minute you get past security, it's like stepping back in time and it's pin-drop quiet.

Why 2 kitchens?
Its not SO horrible except for the blue carpets.

So which kitchen is [italic]the[/italic] kitchen? The green cabinet one or the Escher floor one?
