It's fascinating, yet gross. Instead of a single hair growing up through a follicle, you can get two, five, or ten hairs. They clump together into a stiff dark strand as thick as a pencil lead, and if you pluck it out, you can examine it under a magnifying glass and even pick apart the individual hairs that were crowding themselves to escape your horrible human body.
This issue affects people in different ways. Some (like me) only get an occasional strand here or there, usually men with a beard hair or two. Other unfortunate souls have this condition in hundreds of follicles all over their body. Imagine having an entire head or chest covered with hairs that only come out in thick, painful little strands like this.
Anyone else willing to admit they have this condition, even just a single weird hair on their chin?

Had them when I was younger (in my 20s) exclusively in my beard. Thankfully, not many. Glad that they stopped.

Yep, occasionally happened with my beard hair. Doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue since I started wearing a beard instead of shaving more frequently.

Still happens at age 53. Mainly beard/whiskers, but now and then happens in what's left of my scalp hair.

That's so gross. I cannot even imagine anything worse.
